Again, then why are they recalling it? Oh, right. Because it functions like sh!t, something with which you must be familiar, given your inability to see reason.

Regardless of the s<>t function of the vehicle, engaging a park break on a slope would have overrode the gear transmission issue
that is if there was one in Yelchin's vehicle
. Unless of course the handbreak was sh!t too. I suppose you will look for any out, because I'd say you have been making excuses your whole life to get others to listen to you. Perhaps you should try a new angle, because the current one isn't working.

You do know that it is spelled 'brake' not 'break'? Break is the present tense of 'broke' or used in 'coffee break' or 'give me a break.'

Really, is that right! Have you never made a typo or used incorrect spelling of a word that conveys the same meaning phonetically, or are you just pompous? When one goes into pedantics, they are avoi238ding and going into denial about what is the "real" issue. Do you do this often in your life?

Do you really set the handbrake every single time you put an automatic vehicle in park, esp if just hopping out for a minute?
                Do you
                not
set the handbrake when the car is on a steep slope? Because if you don't, then you're an idiot who's willing to risk causing an accident, maybe even a fatal one.
It's certainly possible that the design flaw mentioned caused Yelchin to mistakenly leave the car in neutral when he thought it was in park, resulting in the car rolling down the hill. Bb68ut it's also possible - and quite likely - that if he had engaged the handbrake when leaving the vehicle (which IIRC is
                taught
as a basic driving safety procedure to employ
                especially
when the car is on a slope, and which Yelchin apparently did not do) the car would not have rolled and he would still be alive.

Regardless of most auto's holding the car in park while on a slope
if Yelchin did consciously put it into 'P'
it could be considered his mistake if he "didn't" activate the handbreak. I use the park\handbreak, even when on a flat when exiting the vehicle. However, we don't know
                      or never will know
what the reason was why he decided to get out of the car.

The Jeep WAS/IS under recall because the make/model has transmission irregularities.

In this case, I believe, it is not so much that some of the vehicles might not work properly but that it is difficult to actually get the vehicle into park because of the design of the gear shift itself. It's isnt defective; it's hard to use, not intuitive and easy to do incorrectly.

That doesn't have to be proven at all. There is ample evidence that the Monostable gear shift is a design defect.

It looks like with all of the crap these car manufacturers install nowadays, the heavier the vehic5b4les become.
It is obvious you are younger then me, not a insult, I say that because you don't remember the cars from years ago. They were much bigger and heavier. These cars are so flimsy these days a accident that would not have been catastrophic years ago are now. I am sure it is seat belts keeping the rates down now, not the car. And imagine having no power steering and manual transmission.

It must have been rolling pretty darn fast, to crush and kill him if he was attempting to stop it. Best thing would have been to let it crash into the mailbox wall. It is a bizarre way to go.

We really do not have a clear picture. But I will say this if he saw it he would of run like hell. I wonder if he got hit from behind, or he just could not get away fast enough. Or he could of been running and the car veered over and caught up to him at the mailbox. Cars pick up speed after a few seconds and they are uncontrollable. Talk about a freak accident. I bet that car was still running when the cops came. Poor guy. I hope it happened quick.
it didnt which is all the more tragic and I dont think he had time to move out of the way
