Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Alan Young

    chihuahuaboydh — 15 years ago(October 21, 2010 02:22 PM)

I'm glad to see Alan Young is still working after all these years (although only on a semi-retired basis). I enjoyed watching the reruns of "Mister Ed" all those years ago, & I must say Alan was the star of the show (although the "talking" horse was a source of comic relief). I hope Alan will continue to entertain us for many more years to come (not to mention him reaching his 100th birthday in 2019!). Way to go, Mr. Alan Young!

    Larry Appleton: "a plan!"

I met Alan at the Hollywood Collectors & Celebrities Showcase in 2007 and I had him sign my DVD for "The Great Mouse Detective." He was the voice of Hiram Flaversham, the toymaker that gets kidnapped by Fidget to make a robot queen for Professor Ratigan. He was a very sweet gentleman and a real honor to meet. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to him and bringing him down memory lane of voicing Flaversham. Looking at the DVD, he said, "I remember this movie! It was so much fun to work on!"
He's got a birthday coming up on November 19, turning 91, to which I say, "Bless your heart, Mr. Young!" 🙂

You are fortunate to have the opportunity to have met Alan Young. He appears sweet and a true gentleman. Alan's book "Mister Ed and Me" is warm, funny and quite moving.
Alan 16d0Young is lovable. Most actors in Hollywood today literally turn my stomach. All the gross tattoos, bald heads, waxed bodies, pierced ears and of course,..PRISON TIME.
Rehab, rehab, rahab.I am so sick and tired of hearing all about Hollywood convicts I could just scream.
I wish more actors were like Alan.
