He made an outstanding guest starring performance as Aamin Marritza a suspected War Criminal in an episode of Deep Space Nine called "Duet."

It was an incredible performance on a show known for having some excellent scenes.
His was such a multi-faceted role and deserved to be awarded. Sadly, Hollywood by and large treats anything within a SciFi setting as something less and it went unappreciated by his peers.
The episode of Duet howeveb68r, ranks among those who know, as one of the best in the entire Star Trek franchise.
      Yulin's performance was simply perfect.

I wholeheartedly agree. I don't often post on actor boards but I just watched that episode and his protrayal of the Cardassian character Marritza was fantastic. A very heavy and dark episode for Star Trek and one I really enjoyed, and Yulin's performance in it was excellent.

Yes, his performance was absolutely Emmy-worthy.
Ironically, I've read that the episode was a low budget throwaway that turned into a classic TV episode that has been recognized as such.
Just goes to show, less can be more.

I'm a 'trekkie', and didn't even know that was him 😮 Great episode.
And yes, you're right. Some of the low budget episodes in the Star Trek franchise - also called 'bottle episodes' or something for some reason - are some of the best and most memorable episodes.
These 'bottle episodes' used mainly the same sets that were already built and used none or very few guest actors. This was to compensate for episodes that had gone over budget earlier, or were planned to go over the budget per episode later. Only proves the writing is the most important thing.
