I'm not sure why Rob Zombie would say he was cold if he wasn't. Perhaps it wasn't what John Carpenter said but how he said it. I think we've all had people misinterpret our words so it looks like we're saying something completely different than what we actually are. Even the wrong tone of voice colors someone's response to what you're saying. I'm sure it must be a misunderstanding. I don't feel like either party is lying.
As for Rob Zombie's Halloween vs. John Carpenter's, both are very different kinds of horror but each one is great for what it is. I don't like to compare them. I think of it as a different Michael Myers in a different Haddonfield. -

I read everything I could possibly find that RZ said about his Halloween movies, and I never read him saying that JC was16d0 "cold" toward him or the movies. I always read Rob saying that JC gave him his blessing.

I'm a John Carpenter fan, but apparently the man
can
act aloof and distant at times. That may have rubbed Zombie the wrong way, but I doubt that any of the parties meant any harm.
Most traces of this little incident were deleted from online sources, which may indicate that the two have since reconciled over this misunderstanding.
