The winds around here sure picked up late last night, and my lights flickered a number of times, but I made it through the evening without any power outage.
I just got back from a trip to the store. All the traffic lights were out of commission in my immediate area, even at this big intersection across Highway 99. Drivers had to treat every stoplight like it was a 4-way stop sign, and take turns crossing. Tree debris was blown all over. Quite a mess! Luckily my grocery store was open and was operating normally, but the checker lady told me they had been without power earlier this morning.
Anyway, yeah, this was a bad one, but I would say I got off relatively unscathed.

That's good you had no damage
None in my neighborhood either. I haven't ventured out yet. I've experienced traffic lights being out before
Let's hope that's the end of the strong winds for a while

I saw that in the news today. Sweet dog. It's always so difficult saying goodbye.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

She and Charles would always take their dogs out on walks together. It's going to be sad with just the one, now. I'm hoping giving her connection to Battersea that she'll pick up another rescue.
