It will likely be a slow withdrawl of circulation, then they will probably issue the new (Charles III currency) The two will run side by side for a while until all of the old currency has been banked or withdrawn. -

Seems an expensive undertaking when one considers Charles will probably only rein for about twenty years, give or take, only to do it all over again when William assumes the throne?
I'm not familiar with the inner workings, but it definitely seems costly and time-consuming given the short nature of things, especially in contrast to QEII coming to the throne in her 20's.
