Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Prince William of Wales

    dwein — 13 years ago(April 04, 2013 02:43 AM)

Prince William's surname is NOT Windsor.
He uses Wales in the Military as his full title before he was made Duke of Cambridge was Prince William of Wales.
He may use Wales, Cambridge or Mountbatten-Windsor as his surname but his closest relative who uses only the surname "Windsor" is his Grandmother, HM Queen Elizabeth II.
Both his uncle (Andrew) and Aunt (Anne) used "Mountbatten-Windsor" at their marriages (first only in Anne's case). Edward's daughter has been referred to as "Lady Lousie Mountbatten-Windsor" in the Court Circular issued by Buckingham Palace.
The decision of the Queen in 1960 changed thename of her children and their descendants (through the male line as children of daughters will obviously take the surname of their father). It's all their on the Royal family website : http://www.royal.gov.uk/ThecurrentRoyalFamily/TheRoyalFamilyname/Overview.aspx

Of course, their REAL surname is Battenberg. That was changed long ago in order to dissociate themselves from their German origin. The 'Royals' haven't been fully British in quite some time.

      ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED??!!
