For whatever reason, Alexander and Lydia are really sticking out for me and I can see their first child being born two years after their marriage. What does everyone else think?

William, as the future king of England, would probably have to give the child a name traditional of English monarchs. And if I know William, any daughter he has will have Diana's name in there somewhere. For a(firstborn) girl, I would guess Elizabeth or Victoria as first name, with Diana and Catherine as additional names.
Yeah, they're dead, they'reall messed up. -

I agree that it will be a traditional name, but not only for the first born. But I don't think it will be Elizabeth for a girl's first name. It could mean three Queen Elizab5b4eths in 100years and I don't think they would do that.

Those names would be awesome. I would love to be a fly on the wall when the Queen heard about it.

Anything but those awful boring British names that everyone in the country and/or that family seem to have. Stop with the damn George, Charles, and Elizabeth's for crying out loud! Try for a Victoria, Charlotte or Eleanor. The coolest British royal names I've heard are Adelaide and Adelicia.

I've always really liked the name Adelaide and it's on my babyname list.

Hmmm. Let's see
We haven't had a King Richard in a while have we?
for a boy, let's go with Richard Edward Arthur Albert
Here we can have a Richard IV or an Edward IX.
girl: Mary Victoria Diana Carole
there, named after both grandmothers, and still have a couple of spares for a Mary III and a Victoria II. -

Do the British like the name Mary for a royal? Then again they did name their second son Henry and I believe that name for a monarch has gone out the window. I know apparently John is believed to be cursed so nobody really goes that route.
This is the family who came up with William Wales so I doubt their child will end up having a good name.

Well, George V had a wife named Mary of Teck, descendant of George III.
I know that since Queen Elizabeth's husband is Philip, their kids and descendants use the name Philip in naming of the children and grandchildren, but there hasn't been a King Philip of England in history yet.
Right now it looks like Prince Charles will be either Charles III or George VII; William will be William V, and Harry will be Henry IX, or Charles IV, depending on if Prince Charles uses Charles III.
I wonder if Prince William will want or be able to use the names Arthur Philip Louis and his regal name? We haven't had one of those yet, although there is the King Arthur of the Round Tablebut is he legend or reality? -

If Harry takes the name David, I think he'd be Either David I of the United Kingdom, or David III, as I believe the English Monarchs also rule over Scotland, and they've already had two Davids in their country's reign.

1 child: heir to the throne, a cool name with some history to it and fit for a queen: ELEANOR
2 child: something that sounds royal but isn't: EVANGELINE (love that name)
3 child: something that reflects the names of the old anglo-saxon kings (ethelred, ethelstan etc.): ETHAN -

My name is Mary, so if William an Kate did choose that name, I would be thrilled. I do agree that Diana's name will be incorporate somewhere, although I could see William and Kate using Frances (Diana's middle name) so the publc won't compare the little girl to her grandmother as much. I also like the idea of using Caroline (a variation of Kate's mom's name Carole) and Philippa in honor of Prince Phillip, as well as Pippa.
I also like the name Jacquelineit's elegant, graceful, classic, and hasn't been used in a long time. Princess Jacqueline has a nice ring to it. I know 5b4Isabella is so trendy now adays, but it would work for them, and I also love Arabella and Ariadne. (which are on my babyname list)
As for a boy, I also like James or even John. I've heard they consider John "cursed", but Charles was also considered bad luck and Queen Elizabeth used it anyway. Oliver is an interesting choice, or even Thomas.

or take a hint from jason lee and name his child: "Pilot Inspektor". Not such a boring name as james or Mary + wills loves helicopters doesn't he?

But what would be the name of his other children then? For a girl: "Polo Rose" -

I know you were just being tongue in cheek, but Polo Rose actually has a nice ring to it!
Here are some names I have chosen for William and Kate's brood.
Oliver William Michael Charles
Jacqueline Frances Catherine
Isabella Philippa Caroline
Thomas Henry Philip James
John Andrew Victor Samuel
And as an added bonus, here are some names for Harry and Chelsy's children:
Gemma Beverley Diana
Ian Frederick William Charles
Ruby Elizabeth Yvonne
Nicholas Donald Shaun George
Ella Alexandra Fay
(Beverley, Ian, Yvonne, Donald, Shaun, and Fay are names from Chelsy's side of the family, as are Charles and George.)
