Why is this board empty? That is unfair. Yuu Aoi is really great actress (8 awards prove that). In Hula Girls, (good movie, but not for everyone due to its weird theme) her acting is nearly perfect, and she received few of the awards for that movie.
And while most of her movies are not widely known, she is in 2 films shot by Shunji Iwai, All About Lily Cho2000u-Chou being first and Hana To Arisu being second. Both movies are awesome, and her acting is as well. Her role in "All About Lily Chou-Chou" is really memorable.

You think Hula Girls has weird themes?
I think the film is pretty much the easiest to watch, really
there's no more universal theme than the underdog story~

I'd certainly like to see her in more internationally released movies, maybe some J-Horror films.
