he's right. You are wrong. rather , you don't know what you're talking about.
The role requires her to set aside her beauty queen looks from those earlier shows. She's a former black-ops soldier, fighting against an international terrorist organization. She can't be pretty, it might a basic stereotypical characterization , yes if you say that then there you are correct. She's not meant to be gorgeous or physically attractive and YET
she has sex appeal and cute when she's pissed, but saying she's "unattractive" , is just a blatant disregard of her naturally fabulous looks.

Unattractive? No, wait, SHOCKINGLY unattractive??? I've never seen Sarah before Person of Interest and, given the gritty nature of the show I was taken by how shockingly ATTRACTIVE she is. My first thought was, Oh, yeah, right, former top secret federal agents going off the grid really look like THAT.
I will grant you that she's more glam in the first photos you posted, but come on, as Shaw in her trademark black pants, white tank top, messy ponytail and little makeup she's incredibly striking. Plus, what a great character! Love that show!
By the way, you may want to Google the name of a good eye doctor. I'm just sayin' wink, wink -

I didn't check your links, but I had posted the question a while ago if/what they were doing to her on PoI to change her appearance so much. No one responded. She seems to have some sort of oral prosthesis or something, making the shape of her upper teeth, and thus her mouth and lower face oddly shaped not at all like her true self. They do the obvious add bags to her eyes, no make up, stringy hair, drab outfits. Even her posture is bad it hurts just to watch her stand and walk, as that is not her normal posture (as you have done, compare her appearance to Fairy Legal, the first episode of Supernatural). She normally stands fairly straight. Even when they dress her up on PoI, the shape of her face, especially around her mouth, throws off her appearance. I understand that, even dressed up, she's still supposed to look somewhat gritty, and she's supposed to be a little awkward in "girly" clothes, I've just wondered if anyone else thought they did something to her teeth/mouth to so drastically change her appearance. Even when she smiles, her mouth looks odd. She is stunning naturally, and I realize that wouldn't fit her character. The change seems more than just make up to look plain. I'm glad you think she looks odd, too.

Shaw is a mysterious and introverted character who doesn't like to put on much makeup; Sarah was able to play this character in an engaging manner. I think she's even sexier here than on
The L Word
. I dunno. I guess she looks more charming as a sociopath than as a bouncy Mexican girl on that lesbian show.
Bottomline: she looks better with less makeup.

Most women look better with the illusion of barely any makeup. IMO.
It was on Life that she captured my heart. So I am completely biased now and can not judge her in gradients.

She's fugly period, her personality is ugly.. It pisses me off that she has a son and chose to work on this show in New York and her son is at home with Steve.. Bad mom award! She never wanted kids, she just wanted a reason for steve to stay around and marry her!

If you think about, steve was working more & his career was going great, hers not so much, and she got jealous If you look at pics of her pregnant on wire image he looks miserable. In one photo, he has his hand on her belly and her hand is over top of his and the look on his face Says it all.

No I'm not saying she's a bad mom award because she's working.. She works in New York what 6-10 months a year and her son is in Los Angeles with Steve. Why not hire a nanny or something so her son can be with her more ? They live such separate live I can't see them staying together maybe there separated, I know they were separated before, I know one of her cousins.

But fathers do the same thing, do they deserve Bad Dad awards(and yes, you are saying she deserves the award for working, because it's her work that's making the schedule)? I have no idea what her schedule is, and how do you know her husband and son stay in LA the WHOLE time she's in NY, or that she stays in NY the WHOLE time she scheduled to be there?

OP, what you are essentially saying is you find glamour and high-maintenance beauty to be attractive. Fine, your prerogative, but that doesn't make Shahi unattractive on POI. In the first set of pics, she has more makeup, brighter lightening and is wearing more feminine , form-fitting clothing. The second set of pics reveals less makeup, grimmer lighting/cinematography and apparel more appropriate for a working professional. She looks less glamorous, but she is still obviously a beauty and her facial features are better than the average woman.
There are few things as fetching as a bruised ego on a beautiful angel. -

If you truly thought she was gorgeous, her wearing what appears to be minimal amounts of makeup and not having her hair done up wouldn't make you call her ugly, or "average at best"
