Post finale, I really really REALLY want her on season 3 as a regular.
See her as a copy of John Reese or not, she brings the badassery to a whole new level AND she's unexpectedly funny. She's not a proby skill wise and her fresh perspective of the machine will bring new take and audience.
She'll be the "un-bumbling" new field sidekick that makes Reese pull his tiny pained smiles. He even tend to be a little more showy around her, and their mutual understanding of their line of work is enjoyably insightful. Those tiny knowing glances, it'll be a fun competition.
Still not convinced? Look at her relationship with Bear! I res7ect my case.
Kidding, more objectively speaking. Bringing Sarah Shahi on board as Shaw will be a smart creative move. It's season 3, and they did a good job of setting up the spice that will prevent the current formula from going stale.

And what level is that?? Is the badassery the only reason she is in the show, a carbon copy of John Reese? How redundant!

I think they're eventually going to give her a spin-off. Nolan was asked if they'd be doing another show, like POI: LA, and he wouldn't answer, just "smiled."

After seeing her in 19 episodes- I can do naught but agree. I think this is her best role yet, rivaling 'Life'. Sorry they killed off Taraji- I'd have rather seen Chapman buy the farm- but it will be interesting interplay between Acker- if'n they don't kill her off- and Shahi, as they're both ca-razy in different ways.

She's leaving the show because she's pregnant again and they can't cover it up for such an active character. They're killing her character off, but she might return in a year or two. They'll say she wasn't really dead. Frankly, I'm glad they killed one of those two weirdo women off, although I would have preferred they rid of Root. I was getting annoy5b4ed with the by now predictable lesbian angle. Now I want them to kill the blonde "bad girl." Of course Root will do it. The unwritten law on TV is that no good guy can ever hit or kill a woman, no matter how evil she is. Another woman has to do it. I'm really getting bored with all the "strong" (IE. violent), super-women on the action shows. No one, man or woman, is invincible. I would like them to bring Shaw back someday if they permanently kill off Root.

Agree with you on Root-she can be annoying. And Sarah Shahi is very hot! I did not know she is pregnant. Lucky guy is all I can say.

                      Sarah had twins March 1.
It looks like she will return for the season 4 finale May 5. Stay tuned.

She won't. No Shaw in the finale. We saw her character in "Asylum" but that was a body double and a CGI from a scene she shot before she went off on maternity leave.

I pretty much ditto everything you said. Tired of Root, much rather have Sameen back. Although, I generally can't stand the super strength, badass women characters, I will say, I think she pulled it off well. She did have vulnerabilities.

At least Sameen wasn't invulnerable and sometimes baddies got the drop on her. Root is just too crazy to be believable. She walks in a slow straight line, a pistol in each hand, taking no evasive action, blazing away and never missing. In real life she'd be a sitting duck and taken out in seconds.
I'm also sick of the fact that these super-women can take out any man in 3 seconds and only get into a real fight and take hits when they fight another woman. Even Ronda Rousey would say that's a lot of bull.

yep on the super women stuff. I do think that part of the idea behind Root just walking straight in shooting and no evasive action is supposed to be rooted (no pun intended, but hey..) in the fact that she has "the machine", "her" whispering in her ear telling her who to shoot next, what route to walk in on, etc. I don't think it's that she's just bad ass but the machine is telling her what to do and she has total absolute faith in it like a god.

The pun was bad but I will steal it. You have a point, but the machine has got to be very ignorant of gun fighting tactics. I was in federal law enforcement for years and I never saw any law enforcement officer use that tactic. The villains must be incredibly bad shots.
