Yes. Not only that, but they all sang live in this movie. Usually in musicals, they record the song first in the studio, then lipsync it. Here, they're singing as they go. That's why it's flawed yet beautiful.

A lot of it is context.
Eddie Raymane isn't conventionally good looking, but I can see many women developing crushes on him because of this scene, where'd he wooing a girl romantically and overall seems like a nice charming guy.
