That's because Elle and Dakota's PR-people apparently took down a few fake instagram pages and then probably asked to transfer the followers to their real accounts. Dakota also had over 300.000 followers immediately on the first day.
But anyway, turns out we were exactly right in thinking that Elle would open her public instagram on her 18th birthday. -

Dakota actually got a boost when Elle opened her account. She went from 371 to 372 in a day.
Yes, there were a few entertainment sites that promoted both accounts. So there are now getting new followers very fast. -

Weirdly I'm sure national sibling day had a hand helping both accounts too!
Maybe. Let's hope they soon go to some public event where they could be pictured together with a big celebrity who has millions of followers. That would give them a really big boost in case of being tagged. -

I'm impressed she's willing to show so much of her personal life/'normal' side.
Yeah, I am surprised about it too. Altough on the day Elle opened her public account she explained it on her private instagram with "Why not? I'm an adult now." So it's seems to me that the whole staying off social media thing was probably something that came mainly from her parents and that she herself is apparently much more open than we thought. -

Exactly. She's much more open about her partying and "fun" side than her sister so they were probably protecting her so that the press didn't spin it the wrong way and damage her reputation. Of course she just is having fun but the press would easily mark her as the next Lindsay if some of those photos made their way when she was bigger.
