Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Thomas Jefferson

Many medical experts believed that Thomas Jefferson was on the autistic spectrum and I heard that recent DNA of his remains offered proof of it! There's a book called "Diagnosing Jefferson" that mentions of all his odd quirks and eccentricities. Even though he was reportedly good at making friends, he wasn't good at keeping friendships. He had odd obsessions and fascinations with tiny objects including every blade of grass he saw and took notes on all of them. He only wore soft clothing and was overtly sensitive to loud sounds. He never did public speaking because of shyness. He was never happy in any of his marriages and was a late boomer in the dating department. He had eye contact problems and often made mumbling or humming noises under his breath while working. He was also clumbsy and not very coordinated. If these are all to be believed, I have no doubt that Jefferson had Asperger's. Of course, it did make him a genius.

I have Asperger's Syndrome and as far as I'm concerned, it's OK.
