Why ever since Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock started acting and carved out a somewhat successful career, every wrestler wants a piece of the pie?

I'd say hulk hogan started the trend but didn't have the mainstream success dwayne johnson is having at the moment.

If you haven't noticed entertainment wrestling is scripted. There's acting involved in entertainment wrestling. Not the best acting, but still. It's just the progression of their careers. Everyone wants a piece of the pie because there's pie right there ready to grab.

It think WWE having a film division is a big part of it. It made it more common for wrestlers to be in movies.

I saw Batista in Smallville. He wasn't that bad. Well, he didn't act much but being a bada** did good for him. And Dwayne Johnson's movies aren't that good.

Johnson's flicks weren't all that in the past, but they have gotten WAY better in the past 5 yearswatch FASTER,BE COOL plus THE FAST AND FURIOUS 6,and the drama SNITCH (probably his best flick so far this year alone) and he's definitely improved a great deal as an actor, unlike a lot of other wrestlers.

Dunno, but I'm glad we got Dwayne. He's a better action-actor than Swarzeneggar was at his age (though I think Arnold MAY be showing hints of acting-evolution in The Last Stand, I know I stand alone on this, heh I made a weirdy.)

Heck, there are some legit actors about whom I ask this question. If a 111cperson thinks they have a shot at movies, why not go for it?

The Rundown is Dwayne's best movie so far. It's great to see Dave get his piece of the pie in crossing over.
Option A you give me the ring.
Option B I make you give me the ring.
                      I'll take B.
                      Wrong choice.

You can't blame them. After all, they are athletes who are also actors. They can't wrestle forever you know. Roddy Piper and Gov. Jesse Ventura had some moderate success in Hollywood after calling it quits in the ring.

Hey, why not? The next generation of action-movie actors has to come from somewhere, and wrestlers have the physical abilities. If they can act well enough to do movies, why not? Most of the guys who used to make those movies are either dead or getting too old for it, so, bring on the wrestlers. I mean, hell, Arnold Schwarzenegger was just a body-builder before he started movies, and he made some good stuff. Not a great actor, but good enough to carry 'em off.
