Do you remember Roy of the Rovers bars? They were tangy on one side and NOT TANGY on the other.
I do Bobby and there was a Desperate Dan bar and an Oor Wullie one too
But I was always for Refreshers and Wham! bars personally
It was an odd time for candy/gelatine things on the market
See, this is a much nicer thing to think about

They were all lovely things to get after youβve been to the swimming baths AND if you only had half of the money you could get a Fizzy Lizzy!

We had one in Bobbytown, a great big one and you could do some real exploring in there with your friends of a Saturday afternoon.

Did yours ever get inflatables on a Saturday?
That were right fun to look at, bit dangerous though

Yes it did!!
I remember two of them in particular. One was a sort of sea monster type of thing and the other was a big slide which was sort of fashioned in the style of a space shuttle.
There was also a separate diving pool which was fun. It was a real thrill jumping off that top board falling all the way to the bottom!

Swimming baths (Not the leisure centre) round my bit had flying rings above the pool.
You could only use them on a Saturday morning as the old guys that used it hated it being a play area any other time. But they were there all the time, you could have a quick attempt at getting across the pool on a Tuesday night if it was quite.
First sauna I ever had was there. I still don't understand the point of them but people seem to love them

My local swimming baths had inflatables sometimes but it was an OCCASIONAL THING and only during SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.
I donβt like being in the sauna because naked older men come in there and sprinkle their oils about.

Inflatables looked like fun. Sometimes the lifeguards would take the hoses out and spray them on kids climbing over the inflatables. Sort of like It's a Knockout.
If people like saunas they should just move somewhere where it is really hot Bobby.
Sitting about and sweating is common enough in areas like that. That's why people invented air conditioning.
I hate air conditioning. Just be too hot or move somewhere colder

It makes you feel fortunate to live somewhere which has a TEMPERATE CLIMATE doesnβt it. It beggars belief that people moan about the weather here. Itβs perfect.

There are areas where it is worse and flooding can be a real problem but all the big cities have drainage and people can move to them if they want away from floods
The UK is a little too North for my personal liking but it's far from frozen or bad Bobby
