She has to pay the amount since she earns more than her husband I persume. It happens in a lot of divorce cases - the sponse who earns more has to pay alimony to the other one.

the story we were told was saras husband surfed the net for porn and had a ton of affairs. if this were true why would a strong woman like sara pay him even one dollar? wouldnt she have principles enough to fight him tooth and nail all the way, knowing she was innocent? the truth is that sara must have something to hide herself therefore she settled to avoid info about her private life going public.

Sometimes it is stronger to walk away - rather go through a long and drawn out trial, especially since that would be their kids would be in the middle of it. That's probably why they both backed off from a trial and instead just went their separate ways.

If she only had to pay a lump sum of $600,000 to keep from having him drag her kids and family through the mud, it was the best course of action for the kids sake. Sometimes it's easier to pay and be done with it.
