c'mon, really. Carter 3 isnt a classic but its not a bad album but i dont even think its his best or second best album (imo carter and carter 2 were waaaaaay better). Just cuz Carter 3 sold good doesnt make it the classic, if that was the case then Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer would have classic albums (even tho Wayne is much better than both of these rappers). A classic is a perfect album, lyrics, beat, content, originality, all have to be perfect. Just look at the singles the only single that is original is A Millie (he didnt even have the best version of the song). Every other single sounded like another typical rap song, Lollipop sounds like a autotune version of Candyshop, Got Money (do I even have to explain this one), and Mrs. officer is just a typical good R&b rap collabo. Carter 3 was way 2 commercial made and wasnt as great as his past cd's. But dont get me wrong its a solid album but not on the same level as The Chronic, MMLP, Reasonable Doubt, BB2, All Eyes on Me, Ready to Die,illmatic, etc. I dont throw classic around very often like most rap fans.

i wasnt putting it in order, i was just naming 10 rappers better than Wayne. I personal think you make a argument for Eminem being the best ever but I would still put Pac at number 1.

Wayne used to show potential but after Tha Carter 2 he turned into a completely different artist and I've yet to hear anything remotely good come from him since then. Carter 3 was pretty bad, and he really needs to just stop with the autotune, as does everyone else for that matter. If Wayne could revert to how he used to be then he might not be a bad artist but he won't do that and continue to make bad music.
Gotta give it up I'm a veteran, like Edison, I'mma light em up and get in ya head again- Tech N9ne -

and here come the stupid haters who know nothing about rap "
HAHA funny since you labeled this idiot as the 3rd greatest rapper. Sorry but he's nothing like
2pac, Biggie Smalls, Wut-tang, Killa Priest, Big L, Immortal Technique and so on and sorry I ain't hating since I know enough about Hip Hop. It's pathetic that people list Wayne on their list of being one of the best rappers since in reality themselves don't know beep about rap/hip hop.

Lil wayne mutters alot of crap on most of his songs, and has far to much auto tuning.
Go listen to the wu tang clan members and come back to me

Tha Carter I is also a classic
Wayne has TWO classic albums (Tha Carter I and II)
He has THREE classic mixtapes (Dedication 2, Da Drought 3, No Ceilings)
He is basically the mixtape king.
Not to mention the numerous guest appearances where he kills it -

While Tha Carter is arguably his best and most complete album it is not, I repeat NOT a classic. Reasonable Doubt, Illmatic, Marshall Mathers LP and numerous others crush that album. Granted, Wayne was in top form and if you ask me, this is around the time he started to peak lyrically, but it's virtually been downhill since. Tha Carter II was a very solid follow-up, but wasn't as well rounded. Tha Carter III may have done great numbers, but quality wise, it was the worst of the series. Wayne was way too full of himself and lazy with his lyrics. Phone Home and La La La alone drag that album down. Plus, he basically stole a Fabolous song and tacked a terrible hook and weak verse on the end. How do you get killed by verse and you made your verse way after the fact? And like the guy said earlier, classic mixtapes don't really account for too much. Dude has potentially, but he's way too big headed and commercial now to really realize it.
P.S. Lupe Fiasco trumps Wayne any day of the week. Dude's lyrics can be so deep. Food & Liquor and The Cool are 2 of the best mainstream hip hop albums to come out in the past couple of years, hands down. I can't wait for Lasers.
