She represents everything that's wrong in music

It's called pop music, that's just what pop music is.
I completely disagree with your post though. Although some songs she releases fit well in current Top 40 radio, she has plenty that aren't as mainstream and have a lot more originality. Listen to You Love Me for example. Or basically the entire album My December. Especially Sober:
Kelly is by no means a puppet. She fights for what she wants on her albums.

After the commercial failure of
My December
, she admitted that RCA controlled her albums. She does not want to be a puppet but is unwittingly one now.

True, but you also claimed the albums that followed were failures. If they were the fault then lies with RCA, not Clarkson.

That's just your opinion at this point and nothing more being the situation and statements you're referencing are now five years in the past. -

I'd love to see where she said this. RCA does have the first choice in picking the singles, but Kelly makes her albums the way she wants to.

When the follow up to
My December
came out, Clarkson said in an interview that RCA essentially did as they wanted with choosing songs for the album. Not sure why you debate her own words..

She said she would record what RCA and the producers told her after she had made her (meaning My December) album.
Truth is, she lost her creative control as the last two albums have been more or less straight up pop. She was running her mouth when My December came out that the next album would be more country, it wasn't. A move toward country in general would get her out from the RCA pop producers and might allow her to have more control. It is an interesting gambit.

I love how you have no proof. But anyway, Kelly picks what she records. They might have final say on the track listing, but she doesn't record anything she doesn't like.

You have offered no proof yourself. The link to what I am referencing was posted here before, forgive me for not bookmarking every news story
As for your latter statement, if RCA rejects every tack, she does have to go back and find more songs. And how about the producer, they can nix something they do not believe successful in the studio.

Again, all I see is opinion and innuendo, nothing more, and unless you're willing to provide material to support it that's what it remains.
A thesis must be proven by it's advocate, not disproven by it's doubters. -

To the OP, ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?
In Today's music, we have to put up with garbage like Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Carly Rae Jepsen, LMFAO, Selena Gomez and such, and yet you're calling KELLY CLARKSON is the talentless one with no originality or soul? Are you tone deaf?
Kelly is one of the few current popular artists now who actually has talent. She can actually sing, make decent music and isn't fabricated electro-pop rubbish. You clearly must be confused and are on the wrong board. -

I find it pretty funny that you singled out Clarkson, who's a tamer pop musician compared to oh, I don't know.. Rihanna, Britney, Katey Perry, etc? Also, why is she a slave to the industry? Is it just me or do people have a hard time believing that maybe she wanted to make pop music? It's not like went on A.I. thinking beep lets make some heavy beep death/black metal!" Pop music is meant to cater to the masses. I'm pretty sure she knew a little of what she was getting into.

Of course she didn't. Clarkson never had or will ever have the technical skill to write or perform music so complex and original.
