So I have a theory and question based on this.
Suppose that it was Trump who was elected in 08 instead of Obama.
Everything else is the same.
Then would his economic recovery have taken as long as Obama's did?
I am guessing that if a president comes into office with a good economy then whatever changes he wants to make it stronger or better will be easier and quicker with a good one then getting a bad one?
Or could that depend if those of the opposite party in congress will work with him on it?
And do you think Trump will be able to fight inflation?

His plan is to tax or increase tariffs which those increases will then be passed onto us consumers making prices even higher then they are now, according to economics experts.

And yes Trump royally ****ed up with COVID. Obama left him a pandemic response plan that he threw out after taking office. I don't think he could have stopped it entirely no matter what but he was the #1 source worldwide for COVID disinformation and did us no favors by trying to pretend it didn't exist. Honestly it's a minor miracle he won this election because the people who died in the pandemic were so disproportionately Republicans who followed hot advice. He does deserve some credit for allowing the vaccines to be developed so quickly though.

The wars didn't help, but the economy was ****ed due to the mortgage meltdown, and that was a result of Clinton.
Then Obama made it better.
He didn't make it better, we always eventually recover from a recession, he had the slowest recovery from a recession since the Great Depression. That's not something to brga about. Nothing Obama did helped the economy.
Trump was riding high on that ship that was sailing when he came in.
He came in to a slow, stagnant economy. He didn't inherit recession like Obama did, you can say that, but he wasn't riding high on anything.

Once we did that we had Democrat governors who made sure to keep their states locked down for as long as possible.
