Anyone know these two was linked? I wonder what some Scientologist's would think of that
Under Crowley's somewhat laid-back leadership, OTO crept forward over the course of decades. Crowley spearheaded an expansion into the United States, where the infamous Agape Lodge of the OTO played host to the Antichrist stylings of Jack Parsons. Parsons, of course, was mentor to L. Ron Hubbard, who swiped the OTO's Thelemic teachings, rewrote them into bad science-fiction and called it Scientology.
Credit to Rotten library.. could be true who knows -

I heard the opposite. After crowley invoked LAM. Howard and some other guy who'se name i forgotten tried to invoke an alien in a form of a divine baby. Ron howard was a failed magician therefore he was considered a left hand path magician. Anyhow when crowley heard about the two experiment he called them Ididotic Louts. So, what is really true here?

Typo, sorry. I meant hubbard. Actually i just now checked the difference between ron howard and ron hubbard. I didn't even know about ron howard. Howard came to my head probably because it is a common family name.

The link was Jack Parsons (founder of JPL and a man that has a crater on the moon named for him) who ran the OTO's Agape Lodge in California. He never met Crowley face to face, but had correspondence. Hubbard's only link was through Parsons. He dabbled with the group before absconding with Parsons girlfriend (along with some other dubious acts). No alien invoking involved in Thelema, but a "Magical Child" - yes. Hubbard clearly ripped off some of the Thelemic/OTO systems in creating Scientology. FWIW - somewhere in one of Crowley's letters to someone other than Parsons (may have been to WT Smith or Karl Germer) he writes of his dislike for Hubbard based on things he heard. People can choose what they want to about Crowley, but he was more accomplished (legitimately - not by his own estimation) and talented than Hubbard, a second rate hack of a writer.
