How much weight do you think she has gained in Africa? I'm not saying Leah is fat or unattractive but she's definitely meatier than in her past work and has more flesh on her tummy, hips and face than you usually see in women on TV.

Dude, make up your mind: are you comparing her to her younger self, or other women you "usually see on TV". If you ask me, that girl is gorgeous, looking healthy, and sparkling with life. Don't change a thing!

I am a woman and i agree
She doesn't have to look like the others on TV and i am so glad she doesn't
She's about the only actress who isn't battling with this society bid in order to have the perfect body which really isn't all that glamorous

Hey, I didn't say it was all bad. Just noticing that she looked a little heavier, and softer than your typical TV starlet.
I'd like to see her get another role, we'll see then if she slides back into the usual TV actress mold. -

OK, now I feel bad for starting this thread which was just supposed to comment on her looking a little softI saw pictures of her from a month or two ago and now she looks seriously anorexic. Better to look healthy.

I do not know how old you are, so i am not going to assume anything. I do not think that the previous poster was angry at you so much as angry at the industry because that has cost a lot of young women their lives with eating disorders. This was a very big thing in the late 70s, 80s and even into the 90s. So, I think the post had more to do with the stupid industry than you personally.
Not to mention, I do not know if you remember some of the shows of the 80s that had teenage girls and young women, but studios would bully them if they gained one pound, I remember hearing that went on in the series "The Facts of Life" and even Marie Osmond got a "talking to" by the stupid producers for eating too much, which I think is really code for eating. Luckily for her, her parents put a stop to it and she was lucky to have them, this especially pissed off her mother because Marie Osmond was not a fat girl, but I think anyone over size 6 was considered fat.
I agree with that. I did not notice anything with her, but I have noticed some actresses look unhealthy and then later found out that during that particular episode they were either recovering from the flu or another common illness that causes weight loss.
One more thing, I am experiencing this right now and that is menopause and when that happens it let's you know that your metabolism does not work as good, which is something else Marie Osmond went through and did gain some noticeable weight but that is just how female bodies work. Not to mention I think she had just had a baby around that time and baby weight is harder to get off than people think. The Nutrisystem that she is the spokeperson for is a good system. I got on it and what I found out is that the more you eat the better your metabolism works and I never thought of it like that. I do not cook for a family anymore so I do not cook as much as I use to and there is only so much that you can make for a single person. It is also what you eat too. I was a size 15 and within three weeks on the diet I was already down to less that a size 12 and what I like about it is that the prepackaged food is actually very good and it is single servings and ideal for a single person. Also, I have degenerative disc disease from an injury I got while in the Army so I cannot do excises that I use to, but I go try to get as much as I can. You do not have to exercise to lose weight on that diet.
I agree, I would rather see a female actor or actress look healthy than look like they are ready to be put in the hospital because of some rare tropical disease. We lost one of the best voices in the history of pop rock and soft rock because the press commented about her weight, Karen Carpender and that was a terrible loss.
Take it easy, it is the situation and issue that people are mad at, not you. -

I know what you mean, I do not know when it began, but for some reason women in our society are suppose to be these super thin and healthy looking fit humans and that is not the average woman. It seemed that for a while it was ending especially with older actresses who, by nature, gained weight and they still were very stunning and beautiful. It use to be that super thin women were seen as looking unhealthy or gaunt unless their body type was such that allowed them to be because that is just the way their body was built.
Lesley Hornby, aka Twiggy, has gotten blamed for a lot of things and that is nonsense. She was just a tiny model and had a hard time finding work because she was too thin until she found her match so to speak. She got blamed for eating disorders and it was not her it was the stupid industry that dictates things like this.
This is just some interesting information, but did you know that e7ecven in the US armed forces the weight standards for women are ten pounds lower than they should be? And, they do not include body type, small, medium or large, into consideration. I only met one weight test and got "taped" to count my body fat which equaled zero. Anyone that went through the physical demands that we went through is not going to shrink, and it has not yet reached the DOD by pony express that muscle weighs more than fat, duh.
Also, I do not think that the OP was meaning that it was necessarily bad because I have noticed that actresses that are too thin look like they are sick and she doesn't. Any weight gain that helps their health. I didn't see it myself, but it would be that she had to lose weight for another project and looked like she was ill and then didn't anymore. I think she is a beautiful girl/woman (sorry, but she was born when I was in my sophomore year of college so she is s kid to me) and I am not sure that the responses were saying it was a bad thing. However, too many women of the past have been criticized for any weight gain, even if when they just had a baby. It's the industry that I get angry at. I have heard some horror stories and when a woman hits menopause, they are demonized as the body does change a lot at that time. -

This is unbelievable. She is 21, beautiful and talented. I don't know her and am seeing her work for the first time in Fingerprints. To even have to read blogs about her "weight?" Words are very powerful. I would hope that this blog wasn't started to be mean. But as an actress myself who has had my fair share of people commenting on my looks. I just beg that people who write about actors especially someone this young, takes into account how hurtful this sort of stuff is. I hope she doesn't make the same mistakes I have and read what people write about her. Yes actors put themselves out there for the world to see, but the harsh comments that are said sometimes are mind blowing. Even something little like this.you have no idea the effect it can have on a person. Especially a young one. Who wants to see "perfect," stick figure actors anyway. And she by no means has any weight on her. She's adorable. But seeing real looking people, "flaws" and all.I find much more interesting then a talentless actor who is "perfect" looking.
Just a thought guys:) -

The brilliant & equally adorable woman above speaks the truth.
Open your eyes and take a look at real girls sometime boys, you might be pleasantly surprised.
Also the next time you ridicule someone or their appearance post a picture of yourself in the message so we can rate you by the same standards.

I am watching her new ABC show 'The Deep End' right now, and the first thing I noticed is how much weight she's lost since LIFE IS WILD. Hmmmust be the pressure in Hollywood and by some members of the general public to be thin for roles
