First of all.who are you to judge anyone? I've read some of your other posts on other boards and you seem to be a very angry person!
You know absolutely nothing about Michael.if you did you would know this
He didn't intend on getting into a fight at the auditions (it wasn't on set)..there was this big loser from Harvard picking fights with some of the other smaller actors. He obviously needed to feed his ego.Michael and the other boys witnessed this. When Michael took to the ice this idiot slashed him and tried to continue his verbal abusesoooo Michael's hockey instincts took over and he literally took this jerk down. Gavin O'Connor was really impressed not only with Michael's strength but his with his gumption to take this kid on who was maybe a bit bigger than Michael.
Michael does not have the reputation for being a jerk in Hollywood nor in his real life. He's a standup guy. He's an amazing and very generous person. He had to overcome a lot of obstacles in his life and did so with dignity and respect for himself! Michael deserves a lot of credit and is now enjoying the accolades of his success.
Michael is an amazing actor. There were so many articles praising him for a job well done with regards to his acting debut! You obviously posted in an unintelligent manner without doing any research.
Regarding his education.if you read up on Michael at all.you would know that UNH and UMaine offered him a free ride! These are D1 hockey schools and major powerhouses of the Northeast. He finished up his sophomore year and then all the auditions for Miracle began. Therefore, he has an associates degree and would have continued on to get a bachelors degree had Miracle not have happened.
And as far as his child.it's really none of your business. Obviously, this wasn't something he planned, but at least he is doing right by his girlfriend and daughter and is taking the best care of both of them! And hello.it's 2005Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are not married and have a child.so do Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon as well as soooo many more stars..Either you're a little too traditional or you're just trying to put Michael down to make yourself feel better. Either way, we all could care less. You must be a very insecure and thoughtless individual to make all these unnecessary accusations about Michael.
You really should invest in a 10 step program or Dale Carnegie's "How to win friends and influence people!" Michael is a winner.you're the loser! -

Wow. What an angry person you are. Who are you to judge someone or not. Michael is a good actor and a good person as well. You sound like you are jealous of all that. And as long as he is a good parent who cares if he had his child out of wedlock or not. There are worse issues than that going on in the US. When you attack a fellow New Englander, expect retribution. We defend our own.

Hey, whoever you are that was completely uncalled for. While I may not get into figh111cts, have kids out of wedlock or whatever, I don't penalize someone for actually doing that. Michael is a very good actor, and a good person, and you seem to judge based on mistakes, which is not only wrong, it shows extreme anger and ignorance as well.

Haha! You guys are hysterical on this site. Yeah, Mike's a cool guy, but give me a break, he's no saint. The chick that wrote that he's a jerk is probably one of the MANNNNNNY people he managed to piss off at some point or another.
I love the kid, he was always cool to me and his other friends, but really people, don't make him live up to these crazy high standards or he will disappoint, no one is perfect
Keep up the support though -

This was in the Inside Track section of the Boston Herald today, 4/4/2005:
Eavesdropping
WE HEAR:
That Stephanie Lemelin, actress daughter of Bruins legend Reggie Lemelin, just scored a role in a new Fox sitcom,Dirtbags,'' about a group of twentysomething friends in a blue-collar suburb of Boston. Melissa Joan Hart ofSabrina, the Teenage Witch'' fame stars. She can talk hockey with Framingham homey Michael Mantenuto, who skated in ``Miracle.'' He'll join the cast, too. -
