Isn't there the red new post indicators on the right side of the screen? And if you open the thread via the latest posting link it takes you to the most recent post?

Click on the time rather than the thread title and it will take you to the new post and any replies to it

When you're looking at a list of threads on the general board, or any board, there's a column that says "Latest posting". You can click that, and it takes you to it.

The website was designed by amateurs who are too lazy and dumb to update it in any meaningful way. It's just a badly designed forum.
