Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Teena Marie

    I think it's
    Emerald City.
It was her most creative album concept. She went outside the box with that one and scored. I'm not sure most of her fan base appreciated it though because it wasn't straight R&B. I think I read later on that she said she didn't know what she was doing when she made that album. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think she performed any of her EC songs in concert either. Well, I'm listening to "You So Heavy" with Teena's voice playing with Stevie Ray Vaughn's guitar solo and I say this album stands apart from any album in
    any
    genre, like Erykah Badu's
    New Amerykah Part One
which I didn't much like at first.
Teena will be missed. I think she had so much more to say musically but we have years of her music to enjoy so I'm grateful.
    ~"Chris, am I weird?"
~"Yeah, but so what? Everybody's weird."

Too many ties. EC was all ite as she would say. Lady T with her up close photograph, slight make up was a powerful introduction. I liked Robbery too, but really she had 1 great catalog.
