          I would expect that she can speak it well enough to get by in the country and well enough to communicate with her maternal grandparents. Could she write a thesis paper in Czech? Id say no. Many of my friends who came to the states very young or were first generation born here can speak the languages of their parents, but are far less advanced at reading and writing. Reason being that you speak at home, but you read, write, and speak english at school and kids spend more time at school awake than they do at home.

                It's weird you say that because she looks a bit like Lucy Wilde who's also Czech.
