Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Ivanka Trump

    BluAngel76 — 16 years ago(October 26, 2009 08:26 AM)

I cant stand people like Ivanka Trump, she isnt famous because she actually worked hard and had to sacrifice like the working poor would have to if they attemtped to have the "career" she has, and I hardly call it news that she had an extremely expensive wedding to someone else who happens to be wealthy. Why are the lives of wealthy people considered so much more important than the lives of everyone else? She may have a lot of money but as a human being she's worthless.

No sense fretting about it. Thats the way things are and thats the way they will remain. Luck of the draw. Most people arent that wealthy so you are in good company.

And keep in mind, that only a small minority of wealthy people are famous. 90% of millionaires you wouldn't even recognize as being such. They live middle class lives, live in modest homes, and drive modest cars.

can't blame the girl for taking advantage of her lot in life. She freely admits that she'd not have the job she has if not for nepotism. She at least seems like she can do the job & isn't a beep off like many uber priviledged children.
It amazes me that people get so angry about her success. It's not so different than anyone who has success. in most cases being successful is about who you know & not always what you know. Climbing up the corporate ladder is a social game. Do you have to be intellegent? sure but there are a LOT of smart people who under achieve b/c they either weren't fortunate enough to meet the right people to get ahead or they weren't gutzy enough to stake their claim.
Unlike someone like Paris Hilton who got fame for a sex tape & seemingly fell arse backward into a pile of cash. Ivanka at least seems like she could make money & be successful w/o riding her fathers coat tales.

I wouldn't really take business advice from her becasue technically she has never had to climb the corporate ladder, but I appreciateb68 that she works hard and doesn't make an ass of herself in public like a lot of other wealthy socialites.
