Theres also going to be a movie filmed here this summer by Greta Gerwig, an indie darling and Sac native. Its a fictional account of her senior year in high school. Aug. 15 would be first day of shooting. Actors Saoirse Ronan of Brooklyn and Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad are involved. Borden hopes the shooting of the feature film in Sacramento will galvanize its film industry.

Tracy: Ive been doing some, yes, Ive been working on a new play. Im about to leave here and go back to the States, Im shooting a movie that Greta Gerwig is directing. Shes written a screenplay about growing up in Sacramento and shes directing the film. Saoirse Ronan is playing the young Greta Gerwig and Im playing her Dad so Im excited to take part in that.

Great find. I saw him recently in "Indignation." He was excellent in the role, but I suspect his character will be much different (hopefully less imperious) in Gerwig's film.
