I've never heard 'grand' used to mean average.
Usually you'd say "It's a grand day", meaning it's a fine day, or it's a lovely day.
Or if someone asked you, "How is it?", you'd reply "It's grand", meaning it's great, etc. -

I saw it here:

But now researching in other sites it can mean "great" too, irish slang -

Brooklyn debuts on HBO.
On the opposite side of the immigration drama spectrum from Scarface is John Crowleys Brooklyn, a sensitive portrait of a young womans move from Ireland to America, adapted from Colm Tibns novel.
Saoirse Ronan gives a subdued, mesmerizing performance
as she navigates between her pair of transatlantic beaus, played by Emory Cohen and Domhnall Gleeson. Few films are as kind or as generous to their characters as Brooklyn, which looks upon past with an eye that's both candid and delicately nostalgic. Available August 13.
The above is from Vulture.

That says a lot, I think, HBO debuts the best movies each Saturday night. I noticed Death Defying Acts is on cinemax Thursday morning. I've seen it a bunch of times since buying DVD on Amazon but it will be cool seeing it in high definition.

It could be that all of the 4 Ronan movies listed will be released in 2017?
That's strange, high possibility for one or two of them not getting a proper release. -

Ellwood is pretty plugged into the film scene, so this is not great news. I've been looking forward to seeing her in another film this year. Something must be lacking in the film as it has had plenty of time to acquire a distributor.

Nothing new, just some video tweets from last month. Frustrated the board is so dead right now.
This first one speaks for itself, in front of the Walter Kerr Theater stage door:

This one needs a little more explanation This is not what it says it is, "Sersh signing autographs at The Crucible."
This is her walking out of The Time New York Hotel on W49th Street with her bodyguard.
The Crucible was playing one block over at the Walter Kerr on W48th.
It looks like she has a good life right now. I'm happy for her.
But I don't think there has been a single photo of her in New York without that damn phone. Sheesh.

Saoirse must be either getting ready to fly over here if she has not arrived already. The shoot is suppose to begin on the 15th. There was a picture of her a few days ago with a couple of fans at the zoo in Dublin. Hopefully she had a nice bit of time to decompress after The Crucible while spending time with her family.

Yes. Gerwig has been tight-lipped about this project from the very beginning. However, we should be getting casting info and perhaps other details very soon now. It's the actor's first film as director and apparently an extremely personal story she has been waiting to tell for quite a while.

More fluff. Tweet from Saturday. Liberty & Jasmine is a clothing store in Skibbereen, County Cork. I wonder if Saoirse was there to welcome home the two Olympic Silver Meadalist rowing brothers who train in Skibbereen and have taken Ireland by storm. They are known for giving the best (if not the most easily understandable) interviews from the games.

So, Saoirse was not yet in America as of Saturday. I surmise this because the original is from a Facebook post from the woman on the right who runs the store saying Saoirse was in ther111ce that day with her mother, the date being Aug. 13. Maybe she was also there for some new clothes to take to California.
