Regardless of who will play him, what did Trayvon Martin do to deserve having a film made about him? That's my question.

Homer: That Timmy O'Toole's a real hero.
Lisa: How do you mean, Dad?
Homer: Well, he fell in a well andhe can't get out.
Lisa: How does that make him a hero?
Homer: Well, that's more than you've ever done.

It's the events around his life, and the reaction to his death that is noteworthy. Not the kid himself - he didn't do anything remarkable.
If anything - that's the reason why it's being made. To highlight how a tragic thing that happens to someone who has never done anything of note, neither good or bad, became such a huge issue. It wouldn't be a big role anyway - the real drama comes after he is shot. It is AFTER his death that would make up the majority of the movie.

In order to be even remotely entertaining, it would have to be completely revisionist. It would be the investigation, interrupted several times to flashbacks of Trayvon's youth trying to portray him as some kind of sweet, innocent little angle who loved school and helped his grandma and all that jazz. Plenty of scenes for Jayden to ham up.

I agree, why would we want to see a movie about George Zimmerman who assaulted a man and then shot him.

George Zimmerman assaulted a man and then shot him? Why is he not in prison?

If Hollywood is contemplating another "white hate" film, you can bet your boots it will get a green light. Today's film making community never tires of pointing out what savage, ignorant, hate filled people we Caucasians are. Dear little innocent Trayvon will be presented in the most flattering light possible (and played by someone who thinks making faces is considered acting). And then there will be the flocks of oh-so-liberal critics who, through tears, will proclaim it to be the most profound and moving experience they've ever known..that is, until the next "white hate" film makes its debut.
Welcome to The Land Of Double Standards, ladies and gents. Our world never eliminates prejudice, it simply finds new targets to attack. So if any white folks happen upon this post, shame on you for all your atrocities and wallow in your guilt like the trash you are.

If you call a life long liberal Democrat who's become disgusted by the antics of a brainless lot of extremists who have blinded themselves to reality and cannot see anyone's point except their own distorted, bigoted one, than I'm the most disgusting filth imaginable - to losers like yourself who have tarnished the Democratic party beyond repair and become as bullying and closed minded as they always claimed Republicans were.
Leave all the responses you want. They won't be read bu this particular gay, liberal Democrat who has worked harder for his party than you ever, ever will.be content to judge others through your own arrogance and stupidity. Have a great day now - keep rocking the boat and spreading that misguided hatred, you hear?

Travyon, played by Jaden Smith, is shown at school, raising his hand in lit class. The wise Hispanic teacher, played by Antonio Banderas, calls on him. Trayvon stand up and recites lines of Shakespeare in a hip, cool, but moving rap. As he sits down Banderas smiles and nods at him with a wise, knowing approval.
Trayvon is seen hanging out after school on the lush greens of the front school yard with his friends, featuring the girl who played Precious, plus a mix of races: a white blonde girl, a Hispanic kid, an Urkel-looking black nerd, a white kid with his hat on backwards. A veritable Burger King Kids Club.
Cut to a dark apartment, where Zimmerman, played by Luis Guzman, is doing pull-ups, with the words FEAR and HATE inked on his knuckles. He then practices shooting his empty gun at himself in a mirror. "You talking to me?" Guzman says. "You in MY neighborhood?" He then sits down to watch Birth of a Nation.
Cut to Trayvon at home, at the dinner table with his parents, played by Jamie Foxx and Maya Angelou. They discuss Tray's future plans of being an airline pilot. "It's a mighty big responsibility," Jamie Foxx says. "Having all those souls onboard." "I know," Jaden/Tray says. "I want to be like Sully some day though."
After dinner his little brother asks him if he can go get some candy and tea. Even though it's raining out, Tray agrees. In slow-mo he zips up his hoody, pulled from the dryer.
Cut to Zimmerman patrolling the streets as rain pours on his uncovered head. He does tuck-and-rolls across neighbors' lawns, pulling out his gun and pointing it at dark shadows. A cat crosses his path and he fires at it. He chuckles mercilessly.
"Keep the change," Tray says with a smile to the woman working at the convenience store. With the snacks for his brother he walks out of the store, not before passing by a magazine with Sully on the cover. Tray smiles.
Cut to Trayvon skipping down the sidewalk. A group of multicultural young maled is there smoking pot. "You wanna get high?" one asks. "No," Trayvon answers, "then I'll never be able to be a pilot." He continues to skip down the path and eventually enters the condo complex.
As Trayvon turns a corner, a sweaty and enraged Zimmerman emerges from the shadows. "Where do you think you're going, ******?"
Trayvon stumbles on his words and tries to answer but is silenced when Zim cold cocks himself with the gun and starts beating himself on the back of his own head. "Help! Help! Somebody help me!" Zimmerman screams.
"Please sir, I just want to return home to my b238rother and finish my homework," Trayvon pleads.
"That's too bad," Zimmerman says. He then empties his entire gun cartridge into the baby-faced teen. Zimmerman then gets on his knees, closes Trayvon's eyelidscovers his mouth with his right handpoints to the rainy sky with his left hand covered in innocent black blood and whispers "hush hush you see.do you see the rainbow? hush hush no tears only dreams now.. taste the rainbow". Afterwards, he gets on his knees and walks towards the cop that first rushed to the scene..but before he left Trayvon h2000e quickly whispers in a sinister racial voice that only came from the depths of hell.. "It looks like your dog ate it."

Perfect. Except I would have added as a coda:
Zimmerman returns to his parent's house, where he lives in the basement. He stops briefly to feed his pet python a cute white mouse (squeak!), puts on the latest Rob Zombie CD and strips down to only his combat boots and tightie whities. He gazes reverently at his framed pictures of Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and of course Adolph Hitler (obligatory salute). With a satisfied sigh, he sinks down into his worn and duct-taped recliner. Muting the sound, he flicks on American History X and begins furiously masterbating when Stacy Keach first appears on screen.
