Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Meghan Markle

    CrystalRaindrops — 2 years ago(February 13, 2024 10:46 AM)

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle launched a new website, Sussex.com on Monday. In a new rebranding move, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's website has the latest news about the couple, bios for Harry and Meghan as well as links to their Archewell Foundation organization and Archewell Productions hub.
Their website, which was earlier called Archewell, will now be referred to as Sussex.com. The homepage features a photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Germany at the 2023 Invictus Games closing ceremony in September.
Both bios refer to their two kids as "Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet," despite Harry and Meghan stepping down as senior members of the royal family in 2020.
Meghan Markle, in a letter, explains that the rebranding reflects their desire to share more personal updates with fans.
The Duke and Duchess found themselves at the centre of a row after being accused of using their title and crest for what appeared to be commercial purposes after replacing their Archewell webpage with a site called Sussex.com.
The launch of the 'gauche' new website, which went live yesterday evening, fuelled speculation that they are trying to reinvigorate their media careers. But a source close to the couple brushed off the claims and defended the use of their royal titles.
They said: 'Prince Harry and Meghan are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. That is a fact. It is their surname and family name.'
    Meghan's page:

i think MM should go back to acting and join the "suits" reboot. the whole royal thing is kinda unseemly since they abdicated their official titles and duties.

I agree. She needs a ****ing job, and so does Prince Harry.

Yeah, and why are they bothering with "rebranding" themselves if they want to live quiet, somewhat normal lives? It reminds me of that South Park episode about them.

They've remained on their Worldwide Privacy Tour for years now, bringing camera crews with them to film them wherever they go. All of this while stating they hate the press.
They did remove "serving the Monarchy" from their original website, so they may realize they can get in hot water. Thing is, what they are doing is illegal. They cannot, by law, use their titles for profit or commercial gain.
Harold and Nutmeg only have a short time being able to get away with this because when William ascends the throne, he's going to clean house, but good!
They're looking at some potential legal battles. I know the RF's motto of "keep calm and carry on" but I think that the accumulated damage and using the crest and now using Nutmeg's coat of arms (which technically, she has a right to do, I think), but they're on very, very thin ice.
The descriptions of their service are laughable. What a joke they've become.
What's most upsetting is that Harold (yes, I know his name is Henry, that's why I call him Harold), still lists his patronage of the African parks despite those horrendous abuse claims that have come out along with proof that he's known about these atrocities for YEARS and hasn't lifted a finger to help the indigenous people he swore to protect. Not. A. Word. Nothing. He's slimier than pond scum to not address this and do so swiftly.

She's turned him into a 'movie star' because she misses being in the movies so much.

Why does everything with these two come off like up and coming influencers trying too hard to find that viral moment and break into the mainstream? Just make a TikTok account and be done with it.

I would have more respect for these two if they would pick a stance and stay there. They want public privacy. They want titles but not be in the Royal family. Everything is so wishy washy.
