      The same reason Natalie Portman changed her name. Embarrassed of being Jewish I guess? The ironic part is, Hollywood probably has more Jews in high-level jobs than any other industry. It's not like they wouldn't be hired with their real names. Not to mention, Jonah Hill isn't fooling anyone. He looks distinctly Jewish.

          It's not uncommon for celebrities to change their names. Jewish celebrities are even more prone to change their very Jewish last names and EVEN first names in some cases.
