That's interesting.
I hope the thing works and everyone lives.
It's really something because it said his brother is also on the crew.
Yeah, I sell people socks on stuff on the internet and now I made enough money and me and my brother are going to space. I'm excited.
It's a wacky story.
It's also weird that we have competing rich people who want to go to space for no other reason than to go. -

Well the idea is to promote is so everyone will want to go. If we can afford it.
That is some fantasy thinking right there.
We never will in our lifetime.
Maybe in another few lifetimes we can and it will be as common as air travel is now.
But all these things do is go up and down. A rich man's expensive risky carnival ride that wastes resources.
Fuck them.
If it crashes it crashes. -

I get that, but we would need much better technology to make it possible.
It would have to be better engines than sitting on a giant bomb.
It's also wacky that we are doing things supposed done in the 60s.
I mean it ought to be, hey what are the plans to build a rocket, then you just build an updated one. But, it's like reinventing something from 50 years ago, and hoping it works.
It's odd. -

It made me cringe and gave me a little PTSD.
Also, I get a kick out of what I call "human folly" but not when people die.
Human folly is when people get all complicated to do something mundane or stupid.
In NYC, they have a public access cable channel. You could start a show if you wanted.
Anyway, this "Satanist" had his own show. So, I was ready for weirdness! But, he would talk about Satan for a few seconds then be like—-but we all have to eat! Then, he would cook a recipe he liked. He would do woodworking, etc.
So, the funny thing is that he needed this nonsensical Satan stuff for some reason, but really he wanted a cooking show. So, just do that!!
The Flat Earth thing is fun and I read about it for laughs because it's human folly.
The guy that died published books, had skill to build machines, had people backing him up, and so he had a lot going for him! If he wouldn't have been silly, he would have lived and done positive things. Instead, he used all of his talents and resources to murder himself in what was likely a very scary and regret filled way.
That's human folly. -

You should google it!!
It's fun.
They have animation and all kind of stuff.
They say that the polar ice forms a kind of shallow bowl, like a flat dinner plate but with a lip kind of rim.
So, the ice keeps the water in!
The sun is like as big as a basketball, or whatever and goes back and forth.
There's a hilarious animation of how our solar system really works, but it's made to look stupid.
It's the sun zooming through space and the round planets all trying to keep up with it. So, it's made to look like the real explanation is stupid and impossible while the flat Earth makes sense.
People are wacky! -

What blew my mind is when I realized that we are standing sideways or horizontal to the earth because of gravity.
Like take two fingers. Put them on a wall while holding your arm straight out.
That is us and how we stand on the earth. -
TheAdlerian — 4 years ago(July 18, 2021 06:56 PM)
It's really something.
It's basically like the Earth is a giant magnet.
Anything with mass gives off gravity waves, whatever that is, which is the same concept as magnetic waves. So, the Earth is a giant gravity magnet, and so all things affected by gravity are stuck to it.
Fucking magnets blow my mind.
If you have the same "poles" of two magnets together you can feel the force and can't push them together.
WHAT FUCK IS THAT!!??
Lol. -

True. That difference is in the '60s we actually went to the Moon. Since then we've used those massive rockets to go into low Earth orbit. You're right; we need a new technology to get to space other than the extremely inefficient rockets. I think Virgin Galactic is a small 1st step because it uses planes to fly it to a certain point, then it fires its rocket; i.e. much less fuel than starting from the ground.
Blue Origin launches like the Space Shuttle did. Same with Space X. The good thing is they're all reusable, but the fuel isn't. They need to come up with renewable fuel or else a whole new concept.

However unmanned space flight is a whole different story. We've made incredible advances with those including leaving the solar system.
Mean people suck. -

I have wondered why were can fly or float to the upper limits of Earth then fire the rockets, so the Virgin craft was like that which was interesting.
The fuels are typically volatile gases I think like pure oxygen or hydrogen. I am not sure how they get those but I'm sure it's quite a process.
It's crazy when you think about it.
Gases—-combined—-are water—-but if you break them apart—you can't see them—-but if you light them on fire….they could blow something into space…..WHAT!!!???? -

What Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson have been doing when it comes to going to Space has been Amazing.
I am glad that Branson was able to be in Space and I definitely hope that Bezos makes it there as well.
