What is the difference between an American and a US citizen or an American citizin? Isn't an American also a US citizin?

Just because someone is born in another country doesn't make them "not an American."

Why should the US be America? Yeah it's north america, but the continent North America includes Canada and Mexico. As far as I've seen, no one has considered Mexicans and Canadians US Citizens. Oh, and people who come from South and Central America, they aren't US Citizens either, but they are from an "America"

I once got into an Argument with someone about that. I told her I was Canadian and she said "So you are not American" I said yes I am, she kept insisting that you had to be born in the U.S. to be considered American
I'll just stand over here being happy

You're right, she's not a2000n "Americain." She is, actually, an American. But what I THINK you're trying to point out is that Sam isn't white. That's very astute of you. How did you figure that out?

Did you know that even if you were never born in the country, but you have one parent that is a US citizen, you are a US citizen.

You need to do your research. You are entitled to the same rights as any U.S. citizen, you just have to go through the process of obtaining citizenship. Your father should have notified the U.S. consulate the moment you were born, and began the process. This is what happens when people are lazy and don't handle all of the legal work for their children.

thats a bunch of b.s i know a guy who was b5b4orn in Korea. his mother and father were in Korea because the father was stationed in korea when he was in the military. both parents are u.s citizens by birth. but because he was born in a Korean hospital he was not a citizen by birth and in fact they had to legally adopt him to bring him to the u.s

That's ridiculous, of course he was a citizen. His parents must have been the dumbest people in history, or your friend is. Anyone born to a US citizen is entitled to US citizenship.
