A pretty lame joke about Taylor so it's not surprising she only sipped her drink, but she doesn't have a good sense of humor when it comes to jokes at her expense…no matter how harmless or good-natured they might be.

He was only guilty of not understanding the jokes that were written for him.
“based on a plastic doll with big boobies”
Delivered by an intelligent stand-up, with the correct intonation, comedic timing, and facial expressions, the audience would've recognized this was ironic, since Barbie is a layered, nuanced story about sexual objectification. This was clearly intended to be self-deprecating, implying the joke teller didn't get the movie and is themselves guilty of sexual objectification… of a plastic doll.
Comedy truly is dead when the comic doesn't even understand their own material.

Lol. The movie wasn't that deep.

He's a very successful comic who has sold out Madison Square Garden. I think he knows his craft. It's not like he was reading the material for the first time. He was in the writer's room working with the writers on the jokes and I'm sure they rehearsed it many times before air. It was delivered how it was meant to be. My guess is you are reading way too much into the joke. It was meant as delivered, about how Barbie is a stupid doll and anyone who acts like a movie about a plastic doll is art is retarded. No, I haven't seen it. No, I won't be seeing it.

Those jokes weren't even remotely offensive. No one has a sense of humor anymore.

They're ot that offensive, but they're not funny either.

Because he didn't go hard enough. The only time award shows are funny is when it's someone like Ricky Gervais roasting everyone in the building.

Gervais sucks. There's more to comedy than being the most offensive. Some offensive things are funny, but current stand-up is like the anti-woke equivalent to Dane Cook or the Blue Collar Comedy guys. It's all aboit pandering to a crowd rather than making funny, clever observations and good jokes.

Woke wasn't even invented yet when Gervais first hosted the Golden Globes. He started back in 2010. There was no political bent to his jokes. He was just roasting people for the fun of it.

He was horrible as the Golden Globes host. He was far more desperate than funny resulting in a horrible job.

He's a funny comedian but hosting an awards show is tough gig. The audience has to really like you and it sounds like he just couldn't connect with the audience. Its a shame but I hope he continues to have success.

His jokes aren't that funny, but the man spoke the truth. Good for him, that's rare these days.

They should have let Jim Gaffigan host the whole show and I don't even like him and his hot pocket jokes.
