Sorry, but Robert Pattinson AU is not a dime a dozen site. It's one of the oldest and most professional of all the fansites, they concentrate on his career, not gossip, and they are well liked by directors like David Michod who has given them personal interviews. They have a wonderful reputation within the industry and make it their business to furnish reliable news about Pattinson's career.
And I posted that here specifically because it had a filming time frame and the information about Mia learning sign language.
      I've seen
      Maps to the Stars,
and she's wonderful in it. She should have been nominated for awards season, she actually created a living, breathing character, there was no trace of Mia in her performance as Agatha. And her scenes with Rob were fantastic, they have good screen chemistry. I'm really looking forward to
      Br111cimstone.

Me, too - and I can't wait to finally get to see "Maps to the Stars" (hopefully, by the end of this week). Most of the detailed info I've gotten re "Brimstone" has been through your R.P. fansite (you guys are really resourceful), so I took a look and I saw, for the most part, a lot of very enthusiastic fans who are positive and support R.P.'s career, which is extremely helpful to him, and the films he's in, especially in projects as controversial as "Maps". I've got no investment in the "Twilight" saga, since I've never seen any of those films, but in my mind R.P. earned his spurs as an actor in both "Cosmopolis" and "The Rover", so I applaud him for exploring roles outside of the Hollywood mainstream. Mia and Rob seem to really like each other (though she never took him up on his bucket challenge - Mr. Pattinson has a sense of humor) so it doesn't surprise me to see them working together once again. I would welcome any other bits of info you are able to dig up re "Brimstone". I think independent projects like this can be helped by vocal supporters, as it all comes down to the investors in the film coughing up bucks, or else it just won't happen.

Thanks for all the info CurzonStreet, I really appreciate you passing it on.
Koolhoven plans seventy days of shooting in May, June and July on locations in Canada and Europe. Guy has already started with a dialect coach, Mia soon begins to learn sign language, Koolhoven explains. I do like to keep control and final cut for the film.
I wonder why Mia has to learn sign language - that jumped out at me.

You're very welcome. I've never seen Mia turn in a bad performance, she's been laying the groundwork for a long and spectacular career, her day is coming. She will win all the awards at some point. She's very respected by her peers and she's showing a tremendous range already for someone her age.
Playing this mother who uses sign language in a thriller Western is another opportunity for her talent to shine. Makes me wonder if she's going to be mute in the story, or if her child is? Didn't Holly Hunter win her Oscar for playing mute in
              The Piano
? That kind of role always gets a lot of attention.
We got another storyboard hint today, and I think you can see what's meant to be her face in the top frame - The lower one shows some violence, and says "snow is starting to fall," so that means part of the film is set in winter.

I'm guessing that maybe one of Liz's children (if there's more than one, anyway) may be deaf or mute. Still, I'm of course looking forward to watching Mia use sign language in any regard.

Can't wait to see what Mia does with this character. I'm sure it will be another memorable role for her, and I loved her chemistry with Robert Pattinson in Maps to the Stars so I'm excited to see them on-screen opposite eachother again.

Guy Pearce tweeted this on June 13 - so the shoot is about to begin. Not sure if Mia is there yet.

Yeah, Mia left and Robert Pattinson also left, neither of them even visited the set - the shoot was just getting started. I know that both of them have the same agent at William Morris, so it's probably some kind of package deal. I was looking forward to it, but after the filming got postponed from starting in May to starting in June (they are resuming filming in November, supposedly) I was really wondering how Mia was going to pull that off schedule wise - she's got a lot on her plate this fall. The producer said that Mia dropped-out because of unforseen personal reasons. Watching these films get launched is like watching sausage getting made - in the old days people had not idea of things until the movie was finally released, and if it wasn't, they didn't know the difference - that was all "inside" info. This does make me think, though, that Mia is probably going to be at Comic Con on July 11 for Crimson Peak.

That totally makes sense, but I'm especially sore at this news because this role was damned
                          perfect
for Mia; a badass heroine who can't speak, which totally suited her acting style to a T.
Dakota Fanning is one of the few actresses in Mia's age group I actually respect, but she's got some HUGE shoes to fill. (Saoirse Ronan or Liz Olsen would've been my choices, but I digress).

The role really did sound cool - if anyone can communicate without using words, it's Mia. Hopefully, Dakota will do an excellent job.
