I see no one's posted this. The film will be released on October 16, 2015 according to Variety. I'm a little bummed that we'll have to wait so long. It starts filming this month right?

I've read C.P. is to start filming in just a few days, Mon. Feb. 10, finishing up on May 14. Yes, it's a long wait for the release - it's going to be on IMAX screens, too. "Crimson Peak" has the makings of a great film - the director, the cast, the story.

Oh! Didn't know it was so soon or that the shoot would be so long. The release date makes more sense now. Plus, it will be right around Halloween. I can see this performing really well, which would be great for Mia and the rest of the cast.

"Crimson Peak" just finished it's eight day of shooting, and below is actor Jim Beaver's facebook posting - some interesting points about del Toro's filming approach and working with Mia.
"CRIMSON PEAK, Day Eight: Today was a piece of schnitzel compared to the past 2 or 3. (Schnit5b4zel for lunch, too!) I had my first scene with Mia Wasikowska, who plays my daughter. She's a lovely lass, smart, and very in touch with her feelings. She looks absolutely stunning in her Victorian gowns. (I look pretty hot in formal dress, too, though I look a lot more like Rutherford B. Hayes than she does.) Had a brief, two-line scene that only took 6 or 7 hours to complete, so it was a short day for me. GDT showed me his cut of the scene we've been filming the past few days, and it's shocking in both its spectacular execution and in its impact. I can't believe he works 15-18 hours a day and then goes home and cuts scenes together. He told me he only sleeps 4-5 hours a night, that he needs most of his off-time to plan. "There will be 1500 questions each day, and you have to have the answers." This will be the last report for a while, as I have a substantial break from filming. Production has a long holiday weekend, and I'm flying to the Big Apple to do a bit of work there on another project and to see some friends. More reports when I get back, sometime right after First Contact Day (for you Vulcans.)" -

It's funny, Mia's dressed half Victorian and half modern day (on-my way-to-Target). Her hair is pulled up and plastered back, but it looks like Edith Cushing is going to be blond - at least in this part of the film. I'm looking forward to seeing a still where she's in costume and in character. Nice to see a bit of a glimpse, though, caught in mid step. Looking forward to seeing Tom Hiddelston along side of Mia.

She looks awesome! When is this film set? Does anyone know? -

I wasn't expecting any set pictures, so this is a nice surprise. Her hair sort of reminds me of Jennifer Lawrence's in American Hustle.
I hope we get a still or BTS shot of her in full costume. Just a little taste to hold us over for a while. Plus I'm curios about the look they're going for now. -

These are shots of them shooting that some guy took out of his apartment window - you see both Mia and Del Toro, plus extras in period garb.

Yes, I think that was in one of the candid shots, sitting down on set - it did look like glasses. Well, she is playing an author, and they did have glasses back then - I think they were period types, so maybe she'll wear them on occasion in the film - if so, that will be the first time I recall her wearing any on or off screen. I can't believe that the guy who took those candid shots, left and went to work and missed all the filming. Mia looks so elegant and beautiful in that costume, walking through the mud.

The colors of her dress are stunning. Here's another gallery of set pictures

. You can see the glasses clearly in the second to last shot.
This person took really great pictures. The close up of Mia and the extra raising his top hat are standouts. -

Mia! Running!
That first pic of GDT, he looks like some kind of urban Santa Claus. I love it. Thanks for sharing. (Ironically, today shots of Rooney on the set of "Carol" in Ohio popped up.)

Yeah, thanks for those pics - this batch are very clear, some you could almost frame - but I'll wait for the stills. I'm really excited about "Crimson Peak" and actually seeing a Del Toro film with Mia on IMAX. That combination may be overwhelming.

I've read that "Crimson Peak" is a beautiful love story (a Gothic romance) and a ghost/horror story combined. There probably is lots of mystery thrown in there, too, with Mia's character trying to discover secrets. Del Toro has said there's elements of "Rebecca" and "The Innocents" among other influences - in both of those the mansion plays an important part, too. Also Del Toro says he's hoping it will be his "most beautiful film". That's saying a lot from the guy who made "Pan's Labryinth". Another pic of Mia on set as Edith Cushing.
