I've read that "Crimson Peak" is a beautiful love story (a Gothic romance) and a ghost/horror story combined. There probably is lots of mystery thrown in there, too, with Mia's character trying to discover secrets. Del Toro has said there's elements of "Rebecca" and "The Innocents" among other influences - in both of those the mansion plays an important part, too. Also Del Toro says he's hoping it will be his "most beautiful film". That's saying a lot from the guy who made "Pan's Labryinth". Another pic of Mia on set as Edith Cushing.

Spoiler alert: the movie centers around a young author who's hiding a mysterioussecond pair of hands, as portrayed by Mia Wasikowska.

That belt Mia's wearing is wild - Tom Hiddelston looks quite gothic. There is a new DGA Quaterly magazine with a long interview with Del Toro. He says that "Crimson Peak" will probably be in 3D. Also, have seeing these set shots I think we can guess who he's talking about in the following.
"Were doing Crimson Peak right now. The way we color code the new world, America, and the old world, Europe, is very conscious. There is one character that represents opulence, sunlight, and wealth, and we are dressing that character in ivories and gold, so its literally a drop of sunlight in the middle of a world that is blue and cyan. That drop of sunlight is going to travel to a world that is cold and distant. And thats storytelling."

          ^Nice.
Here's some HD-quality pics from The Daily Mail. As much as this ragsheet is junk, they do post good pictures and these are definitely no exception. My favorite is the last one of Mia and a crewmember.

This is from actor Jim Beaver's facebook that he posted on April 21 - he plays Edith Cushing's father in C.P. It avoids spoilers but sounds quite tantalizing.
"The scene I was called for didn't call for me to speak, and, unless the camera were turned to a certain angle, I wouldn't even be seen. We were shooting in a huge carriage house that had been transformed by the art department into something far more disturbing. Charlie Hunnam joined Mia, Tom, and me, as well as a grand fellow named Bruce Gray, who plays my attorney Ferguson. I watched as they rehearsed the main part of the scene that didn't require my presence. I can't say much about the scene as almost anything would spoil it for future viewing. But it's both a physically disturbing and an emotionally disturbing one, and Mia bore the greatest burden of emotion in it. I know she was sorting through her options for some time before this day, as she'd inquired of me and others as to our opinions about what a genuine response to a situation such as16d0 was presented in the scene would look like. As it turns out, I won't know what her decision amounted to until I see the film, as I was sent back to my trailer to wait until they actually needed me for a shot. Which they never did."

Would just like to add that I met him last night! I actually went to tour Casa Loma (which if you havent been, is a MUST see). The film crew/cast were all there and there was quite a lot of extras strolling the halls. It was an amazing atmosphere to be in, although the film completely took over the first floor, which has some of the most gorgeous rooms.
I knew the filming was taking place and sat around for a few hours just to experience what its like on set (Im currently majoring in film, so it was a great experience). Long story short, my friend and I stayed out a bit in hopes to get pictures with the cast. Everyone came out to do autographs and pictures except Mia.
Jessica was really nice to everyone, as was Charlie. I got the feeling that a lot of people didnt actually know who he was, just got a picture to say they did. Jim Beaver was the nicest man on the entire planet.. I was excited to see him because I LOVED him on Supernatural. Tom was also really kind and gracious.. of course 99.9% of the crowd (all girls I might add) were there for him.

Tom Hiddleston just tweeted that he's wrapped on CP. I don't know if it was just his last day or if he meant the entire production is wrapped. Is Mia on twitter?

Just as a bit of a teaser - this quick little talk with producer Thomas Tull and his reaction to the completed filming (he's seen the footage) of "Crimson Peak" - he thinks it could end up being Del Toros's greatest film. That would be wonderful. We'll see, but not for a while.

It seems it's official that Guillermo Del Toro will be presenting "Crimson Peak" at the next Comic Con. Not the finished film, but clips and general promotion. I wonder if there's a chance Mia will make an appearance, along with some of the other cast, like Tom Hiddelston, Jessica Chastain or Charlie Hunam. The film shoot took five months. Release is Oct 2015.

This interview had me even more excited. I'm too lazy to search the tweets now, but I believe some footage was shown at Comic-con and that it was well received. I can't imagine they'd be difficult to find if you were inclined to look for yourself.

"I wanted the freedom to tackle a great adult story for a female lead, Del Toro said in an appearance at San Diegos Comic-Con International last year. We have scary ghosts, but I think scarier people".
Crimson Peak arrives in theaters Oct. 16.
Guillermo del Toro has described his new big-screen Gothic romance Crimson Peak as a movie that comes very close to a living painting
So, I wonder when they will announce the Comic Con schedule for this summer, Del Toro said he hopes to bring along the cast of the film.

I see the cast is busy this summer. Tom Hiddleston is filming a series for the BBC. Mia will be filming Brimstone. Charlie Hunnam is playing King Arthur. Jessica Chastain is filming The Huntsman. It might be hard for them to get time off to attend the Con.
