I love how Darren gets a wee bit of fame and all of a sudden there's a ton of fans wanting to hump him and jumping on the StarKid bandwagon. I'm all for sharing the love, but I don't want all these crazy Darren fans all over my StarKid. Not to mention, this kid is not even close to the most talented one there. Not even close. Nor is he the most attractive.
So, go watch Glee and Eastwick all you want and keep your grubby little fingers off the keys that will type that lovely YouTube channel in your address bars and shove off
Joe Walker is superior. Joey Richter, also superior. Lauren Lopez, superior. Joe Moses = superior. Tyler Brunsman, WAY WAY WAY more superior and WAY WAY WAY hotter. Dylan Saunders, Superior and hot. If anyone deserves the fame it's these overlooked few.
I'm not talking to the people who've been with teamstarkid since before this beep hit. I just had to say something b/c it's 5b4gross the way the other talents in the cast are overlooked. And Darren is all over my Tumblr dashboard it's quite annoying.
So yeah, I'm in a rage and I've raged. Go on about you day. Move along. Nothing to see here.

If you were a true Starkid fan, you would be happy for Darren. You would also welcome new fans with open arms.
Did you ever stop to think that maybe Joey or any other starkid doesn't want tv fame? Joey said in an interview he wants to stick with theatre.
Sheesh. I hate when people get all obsessive and say "no one can like this because I liked it before it was popular". -

- Yes, it's hard to watch something you love and have loved form the get go become mindlessly popular, but it's not that bad. They won't love it like we love it.
- Perhaps he was the only one out of the cast who wanted to be on Glee? You can't honestly be mad that he is on it, and Joe/Joey/Lauren are not.

I'm sure that's not true. Any Potter fan who gives it a chance will adore it beyond adoration as I have. It's still extremely esoteric. Love it the way you have? Okay, this many months later, but
"You're being incredible immature, idiotic, and creepy." WHAT?! Because I said, "They won't love it like we love it." How could you possible tell from eight words all of these things you have accused me of.
What I mean is, it's a different experience when you watch AVPM the day it is uploaded onto YouTube, you watch Darren grow as an actor, and then you see him on shows like Eastwick and Glee, than if you see him on Glee and then watch Starkid.
And how can you backlash me like this when what the OP has said is considerable worse. You must be Cinderella, because you kind of sounds like a bitch.

Agreed, I love everyone on Starkid and they are all way more talented than the Glee Cast combined (or, in my opinion that is). Darren auditioned for this role and saying that he doesn't deserve the attention he's getting is a little mean, isn't it? It's not like he became an overnight sensation and he isn't a talentless hack so I don't see why that's such a big deal.
I haven't seen any "claimed" starkidfans, which I'm glad about since I do see what you're saying that it is annoying when people do that. But it's good for their theater company if they have more people to put shows for so there is an upside to the craziness.
I'm definitely looking forward to Darren's episode and any other future projects the Starkids have
February 2011, anyone?

I know I'm going to get beep for saying this, but I totally agree with you. Darren is most definitely not the best from the AVPM, AVPS cycle. He in fact annoyed me so much in AVPM, that I was hesitant to watch AVPS. Thank god for the redeeming actors, Joey, Joe and Lauren. They were incredible. I don't care if they don't want TV fame. Don't give it to someone who is considerably less talented than the three aforementioned people.
Team Starkid for the win. -

You have to understand, that all I have to go off of with Darren is his performances in AVPM/S. It just seemed like he was trying too hard. Plus, I just didn't not enjoy watching him sing. It was obviously a character choice, but it was one I didn't like. I'm not saying that other people should agree with me. This is purely my opinion. This being said, I do have to admit that his performance on Glee surprised me. He did an INCREDIBLE job. I understand Glee, I understand the fact that it is a show about singing. That was kind of obvious from the get go. I just did not enjoy Darren in AVPM/S. Not everyone has to. (I appreciate you not patronizing me, and asking me to support my opinion instead of just calling me an idiot. It's nice to see that in the world.

the ridiculous thing is that as far as I know, Darren NEVER said he was the best. he is not famous cause he is the best, or if you can even define that. I love him cause of how silly and fun he seems. I also love the other starkids actors. I may not have an opinion cause people seem to act like anyone who knows darren from glee doesnt have as much right to him or whatever, but i think thats silly. Darren has even stated in interviews that he is the same guy and loves all fandomes equally so why do people start fights about this? In MY opinion, he is a great singer, attractive, good dancer, upbeat, friendly and an okay actor. That is all. And if you dont want him all over your tumblr feed.. dont follow the people, its that simple. Im sorry for ranting, I just get annoyed when people act like darren sucks and say they have more of a right to him.what? Also, what is wrong with people loving Darren? Im sure if Joey wanted the same amount of stardom, darren would introduce him to the 'right' people. Darren even said it was all a lucky fluke that he made in on to glee and his appreciation to the fans make him all that more amazing. Sorry again and I dont meet to start problems. Just stating my opinion, which i know may be wrong and thats cool. I respect other people stating theres, I just wanted to state my own, have a nice day. And if anyone wants links to the interviews or statements ive mentioned, id be more than happy to comply. Starkid is amazing btw

Darren was one of the best singers and THE best mainstream singer (and that isn't a bad thing, the others just have broadway voices) so him being on Glee is good. I did think his acting wasn't so great at times, but it wasn't so awful it couldn't be corrected. Not to mention that he friggin' wrote the songs which I'm sure you must know. He's a talent, no doubt. He deserves this.

Cinderella is kind of a bitch. Haha. And I do have to agree. I said less talented, looking back, it was clearly a horrible choice on words. And he definitely deserved it, no doubt about that, especially after that INCREDIBLE performance last night. I guess for me, I didn't enjoy Darren as much as the others, and he seemed overdone in the PM PS cycle. But I definitely do agree with anyone that says that he was UNBELIEVABLE on Glee.

Hell, I like Joe Walker way more than Darren Criss, but come on, Darren Criss totally deserves this! He is really talented, and I am very happy for him! I'm sure the others will also get a breakthrough someday if they want to. But why cant we be happy for Darren as well?

More fans of Starkid means more productions in the future. But obviously you should be involved to handpick fans to make sure they're "worthy" or liking Starkid
Seriously though, Darren is incredibly talented - as is the entire Starkid cast (and for that matter, the entire cast of Glee - like the show/actors or not, they're all very talented). He is obviously one of the standouts, along with Joe, Joey, and Lauren, so instead of whining about Darren's success, you should be happy for him - like, I'm sure, the rest of his friends at Starkid are. They all deserve big careers, and the fact that one of them is making it really says something about Team Starkid in general. So get over yourself.
Also, it's not
only
about singing voice. There are many technicalities that go into choosing cast members for the show. You can't audition if you can't sing, but singing isn't all of it. The fact is that Darren fit whatever criteria they were looking for in addition to having an incredible voice.
Your trolling, OP, over Team Starkid is really quite embarrassing to the rest of us fans.

I'm a 30 year old single mom and only found out about A Very Potter Musical because I did a search on Darren. I don't spend my time trolling around YouTube looking for parodies and such. If it hadn't been for Darren being so good on Glee (who btw has a massive fan base that you might not want to tick off by saying we're band wagoners) I wouldn't have looked at all. Gleeks around the world have brought a lot of life to ITunes every Tuesday. Be grateful for the mass of views the Starkids are gonna get and stop your whining about how popular it's getting. This isn't about selling out garage band style. For heavens sake its a parody of an already wildly popular children's/young adult book and movie series! It's not Niche or Homer. It's for FUN.
