Ted wont be dating Cristin Milioti, he'll be dating her character. You can't say she's "perfect for Ted" until the new season starts and we meet the character.

She's pretty but not supermodel hot, and I'm actually glad that they decided not to go for the bimbo look. Ted is not after that. There's something quirky about her which fits what we already know about her - the painting of robots playing sports, the making breakfast food sing show tunes, the laughing at Ted's bad joke about shrimp -

Man. I saw her randomly on the side of the page and clicked on her because she looks like AlysonDidn't expect all this spoiler alert. I've been watching HIMYM. Was it intentional for her to look like Lily? It's odd.

The only slight quib is that she's 11 years younger than Josh Radnor. Now yes Ted is fairly young at heart and in terms of looks for 38, but I'm not quite sure I buy him marrying someone under 30.

It makes sense for her to be years younger. Ted has been out of school for a while being an architect. When he finally becomes a professor, when he's teaching in the wrong classroom, he states that she was a student in that class. That implies, since he had his 31st birthday that year, and she is a student, there are possibly about 10 years between them.

Who said she's the mother? You saw a girl with the umbrella. Could be the friend of the mother coming home from a visit to London, so the mother lent her the umbrella before the journey or something like this. This is just to easy and the showing of the face this causally at the end of a season like a cliffhanger would just be against every rule of television. They do this to mislead you.
I do not think, that they will show the face of the real mother to the audience untill TED sees her. He will see her, he will turn into a pillar of salt with his stupid face on for a few seconds and THEN you will see the face.
And keep in mind: They reactivated Ms. Katey "I was Joey once" Holmes just to bring back the slutty pumpkin. The mother will be special.
BTW: She is credited as "Girl with the umbrella" not as Mother indicating, that this is not the end of the story. -

She is The Mother. The writer and the creators of the show have already confirm it.
And, according to C&C, the season 9 will spin in the Barney Robin wedding weekend, and the gang will meet her before Ted does.
And, 'the girl with the yellow umbrella' is perfect as the credit. We know The Mother has the yellow umbrella, and stating 'The Mother' right away is too bland. Also, Ted didnt mention anything about The Mother right? It was a scene where the audience met her first. So, 'the girl with the yellow umbrella' is enough said. -

I think she is really pretty and also has the girl next door look and yes does bare a resemblance to lily (I also think she looks likes Jennifer Love Hewitt) I am also pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that she is related to lily and might even be her sister? Also that Ted had met her before but had never really thought of her as a girlfriend? I can't wait for the new series and last series and see how it pans out x

I find her very cute. I am glad they choosen her to play The Mother. She and Ted make a good couple! (Though I used to think earlier it would be ineresting if the Mother was portrayed by Lndsy Fonseka, who is pretty adult now to portray Ted's wife, I know the producers weren't interested in this)

Im glad they chose someone who was ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. especially since I simply hated most of the women Ted has dated(obvious exceptions), didnt like Stella(not even a little bit), it was obvious(from the first episode) that Robin was not the mother, the only one I liked(Victoriashe was simply perfect for Ted..until they chose to turn her into the terrible cliche by having her state.."You cannot be friends with Robin") they chose to eliminate. -

I love her chemistry with Lily. And it makes sense. Ted desperately wants what Marshall has so finding someone as down to earth and loving as Lily, who is also extremely attractive, is his dream come true. As for whether or not she is a good actress, she was nominated for a Tony for her role in "Once" on Broadway and no one can possibly doubt her after seeing her in the last episode, saying goodbye to Max. Heartbreaking and beautifully done.

Ugly,(okay maybe not ugly but not beautiful enough to be the lead).
If eyes were all we needed to call someone beautiful, world would be a simpler place.
Her face,which I saw in the season finale of S8 was the reason I quit watching the show.
If she was cast for a smaller role I wouldn't have cared, but for the role of 'the mother'? The character whose face we've been waiting to see for 8 god damn seasons? COME ON!
People can say she is beautiful to make themselves feel better or maybe to shda0ow the world they are awesome human beings who look beyond the accepted norms of beauty, but they know in their hearts that they could've cast someone much more easy on the eyes very easily.
She is nothing like Lily or Robin(maybe a little bit like Lily but nothing like Robin) Lily is cute and Robin is HOTT, this girl is average at best,no way around it. Them teeth! Holy!

You are a jerk! She is very pretty and also a perfect match for Ted. She seems warm, quirky, a little awkward, sweet and honest everything that Ted wants in his wife. To say she is ugly is just plain ridiculous (or is it that you are jealous and actually want her yourself but stand as much chance as I do of getting Keanu Reeves which is 0%)

I realise not everyone finds the same person attractive (otherwise we would all fancy the same person) BUT to call someone ugly is just rude and totally out of order and not correct at all. She is a very pretty lady (a cross between Jennifer Love Hewitt and Alyssa Milano)
To not watch a programme because you don't find a person attractive is just childish especially if you have watched the 8 previous seasons.
