On behalf of the How I met your Mother fans I'd like to apologize to you.
At first, some of us didn't know what to make of you as the Mother. Maybe it was just such a change for us. Each of us had built up in our minds what we thought the Mother should be. What she should look like. How she should behave. Then we got to meet you. It took time to adjust. But you kept growing on us. Every little bit of that beautiful, kind personality started to show through from scene to scene. We saw your heart, the care in your eyes. You began to truly be apart of their group. You fit right in, like you should have always been there. We looked forward to just another glimpse of you, another piece of the puzzle. We wanted more and more of you and Ted together. Until we could never see Ted being with anyone else. You were perfect for him. We couldn't get enough of you. We were all pulling for you, and only you. Not one person in his past made so much sense for Ted. We had forgotten all others. We truly believed you should go on forever together. What would have been a beautiful ending to an epic love story.
But it all got washed away and ruined by the writers in the last moments. And I apologize. You deserved better. We wish we could have gotten to see you more, and at the very least gotten to imagine the rest of your lives together. We wish we had 9 more seasons, but with much more of you in it. Ted was meant for you and only you. But it wasn't only Ted that loved you, it was all of us that fell in love with you. And I, and I know many others, thank you for your incredible part in all this. You will always be the Mother we love most. Well aside from our real moms of course

This is a perfect way to say most of us think! I really wanted to see more of her. She became adorable. And seeing more of her and Lily would have been fun too! I think she would have even been a better friend for Lily than Robin.

I agree even tho your post kind of creeps me out because you seem to be talking to the character as if it were a real person. But I've really enjoyed Cristin's work and I think she nailed the character perfectly. I didn't like the character at first but grew to love it. The fact that she made YM so awesome was probably part of the reason most people hated the ending so much. You were great, Cristin, and I look forward to see your next projects.
And on some small level, I think you owe me something for deceiving me so exquisitely. -

To the OP: Don't pay any mind to the haters here. We get it, Cristin did an amazing job. We all bought into her role. This may have been the best job the makers of this show have done in years, was to choose an actress we all instantaneously began to care about. Not to mention the scene where they began talking at the train station, the on screen chemistry was probably the best we've seen on any show. It was extremely heart warming, and thus a shame they had her die and Ted go back with Robin. Lets hope Hollywood will have her do more than just supporting roles in the future.

Agreed she was amazing and deserved more for her character which she made amazing have a much better ending (rather than being killed off in literally 2 sentences offscreen).

How was I rude? Chill out. The only thing I said is that you post creeped me out a bit, as it reminded me of those people who believe movie/tv characters are real. But I said that jokingly since you wrote it on Cristin's board, so obviously you know she is an actress. And I got what I you were trying to say, I said the same thing. I wasn't trying to insult you in any way, I don't know where you got that.
And on some small level, I think you owe me something for deceiving me so exquisitely. -

Well I thought she was perfect from the start! I inmediatly fell in love with her (Cristin AND her character Tracy when she bought that ticket to farhampton <3) And in the course of the season I fell more and more in love with both!

she was so perfect for the role!if the writers had put some thought into how well the character of mother was received by the audience and didn't just go with the ending they had thought up in season 2 things would have been so different

They needed two seasons with her as a main group character, OR, she should have been the mother in the last episode for only 2-5 minutes max ( and Ted marries and stays with).
Writers dragged the show 4-5 seaons too many. She did good with what she was given. Cant polish a turd, pardon my french. -
