She stated she lived their all her life except for when she was training as an actor, some actors with accents will always do an American accent.
Before Christian Bale became famous he would do interviews with an American accent, which I thought was odd until I heard that other actors do the same thing to get work in the U.S.. I could detect a slight accent in one of her interviews.
Until I looked at her resume I didn't know she was the actor who played Mera on "Smallville" the only other thing I've seen her in is "Magic City".
I use to have two employees from that same region one of them had an accent and the other did not, when I asked him about why he did have an accent he stated he worked very hard to get rid of the accent because he had a Muslim sounding name and coupled with the accent and our job requires a lot of travel he just thought it was a good idea to sound more American or not have a heavy accent which his sister happened to have at the time and some times it was difficult to understand what she would say especially if she got nervous.
Ms. Satine articulates her words a lot more than most Americans would during a conversation. I have two friends who train business people in other countries to speak American type English for business.

Her resume says that Elena was born in Tbilisi, Georgia (former USSR)and raised on the Black Sea coast of the "Russian Riviera" (Sochi). In 1998, on a spontaneous trip to New York City, the young actress attended an open call for at the Professional Performing Arts School, and got accepted on the spot. After graduating with honors at age 16, Elena continued her dramatic studies at the Moscow Art Theater School in Russia, as well as as doing several international fellowships at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, England.
In one of her interview she said that she is very sorry that she can't speak Georgian anymore. No wonder her English is perfect!
