So 2.5 million people like the song. Do they really like it though or are they just buying it because others are saying how great it is? She's got a great voice no doubt 111cbut she isn't anything that special in my opinion.

First of all, it's the album, not the song. And you're absolutely entitled to your opinion, no matter how insignificant it is to those who are fans of Adele. I don't know how much of a fan I am, because I don't actually own any of her material. Don't know if I ever will. But I think she has talent. She seems like a decent person, too. Out of curiosity, what vocalists do you think are special? I'd really like to know.

I agree. Totally OVERRATED. It's just that the public does not have much to pick from as far talent like in the past, so they just embrace whatever they can and whatever they THINK is talent. She was lip syncing on the Today show a couple days ago. Genuine talent does not need to lip sync.

She's an average "loud" female vocalist. She belts it out, sure. But so can many, many others. And her songs? That's the weakest/most surprising aspect of her career to me. Her songs are simple paeans to misery, and there are tons of better songwriters out there, too.

Couldn't have said it better, myself. I'm not saying that she doesn't deserve or have the right to share her music with the world, I just wish radio and such media wouldn't shove her down our throats. They're seriously trying to push "Hello" as being the next best thing, and I just don't buy it. I think what really bugs me about that song is that it's getting massive airplay on my City's two major R&B stations, which truly baffles me. -

She is pretty, she is sweet, and she is talented, and she has a fairly unique voice. But I do get sick of being told how amazing she is, how she is a legend in her own time, and how amazing her albums are (I find the music a bit dull actually) And I get sick of her getting every award going.
She is good, but not the amazing innovative music legend we are led to believe by the media. As for 'how come xxx amount of millions bought her records then?' and whatnot, I think it's a serious case of thda0e emperors new clothes. She is good, but no more deserving of all the fame and adulation, than any other female singer/songwriter IMO. -

You hit the nail on the head, my friend! I couldn't have said it any better, myself. I mean, I like her, but I just can't buy the hype. I can't even really take entertainment awards seriously, these days. At least not with music. We're just kind of giving them out now.
