i know i did read that
i didnt mean that the black girl was lavender but that they had just attached that name to her so people who knew that she was "lavender" may have come to think of lavender as black because of that
but my point wasnt about that my point was about matilda and i hadnt seen that in other posts -

then Slughorn says- "Blaise Zabini is in your year- of course." At which point Zabini and Harry are said to ignore each other because "Gryffindor and Slytherin students loathed each other on principle."

if i remember correctly from previously reading the books, i remember something about Rowling saying she had dark features, which in that case could make her black or indian. all of which have dark features
