Well then I'm pretty sure she does say it somewhere. Can anyone remember which book? I think it would be one of the earlier ones. The girl they casted for Lavender doesn't look anything like what I thought she would look like.

She was never mentioned to be any colour at any point in the books. She was implied in one description.to be white in Book 6. But certainly never black.

Oh well, it's just an excuse for me to reread them all again so I can be sure.

I've never imagined her as white, just cause the book would have said she was black if she was, like it has done with other minor characters like Blaise and Angelina. If anything, I saw her a brunette or blonde or something.

Blonde/Brunette are hair colours, not skin colours.

She was black in the first five films and was played by Jennifer Smith.

She was in one of the previous five films, as an extra, simply labelled LavenderBrown.

                      I made a typo - I meant I imagined her a a brunette/blonde white girl. I know hair colours aren't skin colours, thanks.

That's right, she was black in the movies! Maybe that's why I thought it. I'm still going to have to read all the books again.

The actress who portrayed her in the film was black - but she never had a line or was actually referred to as being Lavender by another character, only in the credits. She was just an extra with a name slapped on.
