What's the general opinion on Jessie as Lavender then?

OMG the WonWon scenes are going to be hilarious, I watch the films with my family, and out of all of us my dad is the only one who hasn't read the books, his reaction is going to be so funny.
I'm glad they're finally bringing in Lavender, (of course they have to in this film)out of all the Gryffindors mentioned in the books in Harry's year, Lavender is the only one that hasn't been introduced.
Jessie's not exactly how I pictured Lavender to look, but saying that, as soon as I saw her pic, I thought, 'yep that's Lavender'. -

In the PoA film, they gave a random black girl who is an extra the name of 'Lavender Brown', maybe just so they didn't have to call her "Extra". But she's never been in any of the other films. Lavender's appearance has never been described in the books, though I thought I remembered HBP saying she had blonde hair

I don't really have an opinion, I've never heard of this girl before. But uh I was under the impression that Lavender was black? that kinda bugs me she's not
Well nowhere in the book does JK refer to Lavender as being black even though she makes sure to specify that others like Lee Jordan, Angelina Johnson, and Dean Thomas are black. You are probably under that impression because someone cast a black girl for Lavender in the 3rd movie, and they probably did this because she hadn't really emerged as a character in the books yet, so they had no reason to think otherwise -

I agree, I thought the way she got the role was completely unfair
I think it's more unfair the fact that fans, who have no experience at all and
don't
make a living out of acting, get the roles real actores apply for. It's like stealing jobs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying someone without acting experience can't act properly. It worked with Evanna. But if you ask me, it worked because they cast a real-life Luna, Evanna IS Luna in real life. But I don't picture her doing, let's say, Shakespeare or things the like. Jessie lives of her acting -she wants to become a stage manager- so I think that she's the one who
needs
to get the role, and not a fan, who only wants the role to meet the cast or something like that. -

I don't think she fits the part. She actually looks like she is meant to play the part of Luna Lovegood (she almost looks like Evanna Lynch too). She doesn't look like what i thought Lavender would look like plus in the 3rd movie you see Lavander and she has dark skin, dark hair and brown eyes. What i want to know is why didn't the keep the same girl?

When I read all the books I imagined Lavender with dark hair and probably a bit thinner (Im not sating that she is fat, just a thiner face You know what I mean?)
Yeah, I know what you mean. She's not fat at all, but she has a wide face. I read somewhere that she has a kind of ethereal beauty. That might explain why some people think that she looks like they pictured Luna. -

I prefer it this way. Most of the girls who went to the open auditions just wanted to meet Rupert or something like that Acting is Jessie's job, so I'm happy that she got a role that will get her more noticed and probaly help her find new and better roles. Most of the girls of the open audition don't even want to become actresses!! They just want to be in a HP film for kicks!! It would have been like wasting a great opportunity for an actor

Im glad shes playing Lavender. I prefer it that someone older is playing her because she wont go bragging to the world about it. Ive never seen her act and some people are sayings shes ugly and wrong for the part, I think shes pretty and will do a good Lavender, just from the pictures Ive seen.

i think this girl is prettier than i pictured lavender.
i even think shes prettier than emma watson so she kinda ruins my picturing of hermione and ron ending up together.
