Funny you say that because she reminds me of Kate McKinnon as Ellen on SNL. I think that's why I can't take her seriously on Fargo.

She reminds me so much of Ellen Degeneres I came here wondering if she was a relation. The voice is uncanny how much she sounds like her but there's also some resemblance.

But yeah, I've been thinking this since the first episode, because she looks like Ellen, sounds like her, and is SPOT ON for the voice of "dory" in the movie "Finding Nemo".

They are about as close in comparison as Barbara Streisand and Wesley Snipes. How much China red heroin does one need to shoot between his/her toes to even BEGIN to EVEN think about those two in the same realm? I dunnoanyways she'1908s a great actress and I've just started this series today having watched all of them I'm hooked. Ellen Degeneres? Cancel Christmas

Ellen has talent, she just needed to be packaged properly. As a talk show host she's thriving but she has no connection to Alison.
Alison was wonderful in Fargo, she was The Rock that allowed her fellow actors to thrive. Incredible performance, she can convey so much with just facial expressions. The scene where she stops the Hess brothers from killing each other is absolutely priceless.
Ellen goes Harvey Korman "can I have a little feel" then saves face with style.

Funny, I thought she looked very familiar too, but I finally realized she reminded me Katherine Parkinson from various British TV shows. Obviously the accent is very different, but something about the face, maybe the eyes, is very similar.

yes i logged on to see if anyone else saw the resemblance to ellen, they are crazy similar - if you close your eyes they sound identical (on fargo anyway).
they even have some similar features visually.
i had never seen this actress before - but she is amazing - just something really warm and intriguing about her. big fan here.
