Routine melodrama about a love triangle on a cargo ship traveling across the Atlantic with an unhappy crew. It has a very recognisable British cast and the storm scene is well done - though it goes on a bit long with the beautiful Diane Cilento being rolled wetly around the deck.
The film begins and ends at Peter Finch's retirement with the story told as a flashback and I liked the closing scene between Finch and Cilento, but really it's just an OK film, perhaps made better by it's patina of age.
I have always depended on the kindness of Strangers - and the bastards let me down!
