The closing of these message boards doesn't seem like such a big deal, does it?
We're going to be OK - just not here.

Certainly does put things in perspective, jj. I don't know about 2026, but I do believe in the Gaia Principle, which was proposed by scientists James Lovelock and Lynn Margulis (wife of Carl Sagan). Lovelock points out in his "The Ages of Gaia," that Gaia [the planet Earth], "being ancient and resourceful enough to have carried out these successive changes of the planet in spite of asteroid collisions and other setbacks, is herself probably not endangered by the relatively momentary depradations of the human species, as it befouls and cripples the bio-dynamics of its environment. Rather, the danger is to the human race, not only from our own actions, but also by Gaia's reaction to them."*

And with that I thank you for bringing me back to my other greatest love: Nature.
