His most recent episodes look more like a Care Bear episode, rather than something coming from his brand. He definitely re-invented himself, but for the worse.
- The Star Wars reviews: reviews done with a good journalist eye are supposed to be objective. If we wanted to hear what he personally feels about something, the whole thing would be pointless. Even if we did, it discredits the overall objective concensus of what's right and what's wrong.
1.1 Han shot controversy: how can he say that it's a change that is not very significant? It's the MOST F@#~~$KING significant change that idiot George Lucas made, and ironically, it's similar to how pretty much like the AVGN re-invented himself for th5b4e worse. Dude, when there is an OVERWHELMING opinion that this scene should have never been touched, you have to release the ANGRY NERD and go with the flow. I don't care if the change doesn't mean that much to you. The change IS a big deal.
1.2 The other changes (especially ROTJ): another wasted opportunity to release the ANGRY NERD. Why is he coming out now like this nice soft-spoken reviewer who "slightly disagrees" when things are wrong. Dude, curse, say something, voice your words.
1.3 The prequels: I guess he nailed it when he says TPM and AOTC are bad (though he could have been nastier), but calling ROTS good ? I mean, come on and he's supposed to be a filmmaker? or interested in filmmaking? With the amount of flaws ROTS had, it should have been a feast for a AVGN episode.
1.4 The Force Awakens: DUDE! The entire world agrees this is the BIGGEST DISSAPOINTMENT of all time, having set such a high expectation for Episode 7, only to have a cheap reboot of Episode 4! The whole Star Wars universe fanbase agrees on how BAD this movie is (within the SW universe). How the F"$K can you say it's "good"? This was another wasted opportunity for the ANGRY NERD to do what he does best. Moreover, it proves me even further when I say that he re-invented himself FOR THE WORSE. Why does he keep wasting these chances to seize the character he created? He's handed a 50 mph fastball at the middle of the plate, yet he bunt16d0s the F@#KING ball ? - Recent video game reviews: they're just bad, plain bad, let's face it. The Berenstain Bears episode felt more like The Lord of the Rings (the extended edition). I literally fell asleep watching it. This brings up my previous point, meaning: did he run out of bad video games? If so, then why can't he transition to reviewing movies as the ANGRY NERD ? He should have taken that Star Wars opportunity to gain a new fanbase, yet he missed it.
- Those boring playthroughs: I mean they're fun for about the first five minutes, but after that, nobody feels like sitting through them.
- You know what's bull.: a good initiative. But he doesn't do them.
Like I said, this re-invention of his persona has been too PC
- The Star Wars reviews: reviews done with a good journalist eye are supposed to be objective. If we wanted to hear what he personally feels about something, the whole thing would be pointless. Even if we did, it discredits the overall objective concensus of what's right and what's wrong.

I think you're confusing James Rolfe the person with AVGN, the character he plays. James has been doing movie reviews as himself for at least a decade now. It's fine if you think he should be doing movie reviews as AVGN, but that has nothing to do with being too PC.
Personally, I like his movie reviews/commentary better than the AVGN episodes.
